Where does Without Love take place since it's after I Know Where I've Been?
yeah i know that fyi-its just he looked very disney in HSM-duh-and in hairspray-he looks all grown up.
If you go to the blog, read the new wall street journal article- it explains that the song was deemed too repetitive by the filmmakers so it was cut.
I hope they filmed it- that way we could see it on DVD. or they could add it back in. or something.
IKWIB is sung during the protest march on WYZT. Things happen and tracy goes in to hiding at Pennys... thing happen and Seaweed rescues Penny from her bed/ Link is at Tracy's house looking for her/Tracy is in hiding things happen... Without Love.

Is there a protest march during Big Blonde and Beautiful?
no. The song doesn't merge in to the march.
There are many scenes in between the two.
kinda feel like im not gonna like the movie. from all the talk-it seems like they got to far from the musical-if that makes sense-but ill still give it a try!
"does and one else wanna rape zac efron? or is it just me ? okay-i guess just me!"
...wow...

Film adaptations of musicals are RARELY the exact same thing.
Some things work well on stage that don't translate to the screen. So, things have to be cut/added/rearranged for the better of the project.
i remember someone(i think craig) said that if it was directly transfered to screen, it would look like a cartoon.
ucjr- it is a slight departure- but tahts what makes it still fun and exciting- you dont know the journey.
Haha neddy, now I have this image of Rick Moranis attempting to sing Mama I'm a Big Girl Now.

"Sondhead- The singing I heard at the screening- was very much Amanda's voice. I think it would be a joke if she was dubbed by Diana- her voice is too recognizable."
I didn't say Diana dubbed her. I said she was asked, which is definitely true. Needless to say, she declined (I was personally shocked they even asked her). However, it would seem to me from this that they sought someone else to dub Amanda Bynes--or they may have decided to let her do it herself.
Mateo, I know you can't say much, but does Amanda pull off Penny's vocals in the film? I would love to know how she sounds in "Without Love"!
oh i see.
Amanda doesn't have a very strong voice- but its not bad at all. Her voice is a tad higher than her normal speaking voice- but still deeper than most girls voices... but thats just Amanda.
Since cutting MIABGN there isnt much penny singing. But her W/L is good. She does the whole "and I'm never going back!" -diva. not with the christina aguilera-like hand gestures.. but still diva. She really holds her own.
I don't see why they would go to Diana- unless that was really early on during filming.
But once you go and dub one principal- it just leaves all the other voices up for question.
YES!!! im so glad she does the AND IM NEVER GOIN BACK!!!! thats pretty much my fave part of the song. it always gets tons of laughs. haha.
(inlovewithjerryherman- if you read this, you sent me a PM but I can't respond - bww says you dont accept them.)
wull hey that's weird -
and since the subject has now come up in this thread,
heck yes, zac efron looks amazing.
just stepping in here to say..
No one, not (the fantastic) Diana DeGarmo or anyone else was ever approached about dubbing Amanda Bynes. Whoever says that does not know what they are talking about and strangely enough, states it like it is a fact. It isn't.
We all decided early on that we would not cast anyone who couldn't sing their part. So there!
Oh, and by the way...THE MOVIE CAME OUT GREAT!!!
see ya at the movies! Over and out!
Marc Shaiman (composer/co-lyricist of HAIRSPRAY)
Marc, when is the world premiere of HAIRSPRAY? I was wondering for that contest. (Movies always premiere several days before they hit theatres).

probably late june? or early july?
Good to hear Marc. That would be so insulting to Amanda.
since this song doesnt make sence without adults,
does that mean Divine, Harvey and Travolta will be singing the adult parts on the track to correspond with their Tracys?
