Emmy, the last elphie standby for the wicked 1st nt, is in the ensemble and I'm so happy for her!

Why would they replace anyone? Do those four departing ensemble members really have better gigs lined up, or did they just feel like firing people?

just curious, but who from the off-Broadway cast didn't transfer?

I think they added bodies. I don't think anyone left.

yeah, just researched it from the off-Broadway cast. Nobody left, everyone from the off-Broadway cast is transferring. They've added four ensemble members: Neil Haskell, Morgan Marcell, Emmy Raver-Lampan & Austin Smith.

Nobody left, it's four additional ensemble members.

Also of note, TheaterMania changed the language in their article. It now says Groff isn't confirmed. I guess the press rep screwed up and sent it off too early.

I did not see Groff-- I saw Brian D'Arcy James, who was terrific. (Went to The Public in late February.) I think having a middle-aged King George might work better stylistically and dramatically, so part of me wishes that they'd gone for an older actor uptown. But Groff is probably terrific. What do I know?

In any event, I'm excited for all of them, even though I probably won't be going back for a while. I was privileged to see it downtown, really-- and I can't break the bank. I do, however, really look forward to the cast album.

I'm sure Groff is doing it, since the initial release that was sent out had his name on it. Maybe he just hasn't signed his contract yet.

"Brian D'arcy James wouldn't leave Something Rotten so quickly, right? "

No, nor should he. I wasn't expecting that to happen, either.

I'm very grateful I saw Brian, he was far superior to Groff IMO, but Groff is just fine and it's not a hard part to get a lot of laughs out of.

I highly doubt that he would leave a lead role in a hit musical to take a supporting role in one that, while promising, could very well fizzle if the buzz dies down.

I love Neil Haskell!

Yes, it sounds like a technicality about Groff....I hope so!

No way would BDJ leave a leading role for a minor supporting one.  Besides, he signed a contract, which is highly likely for a year.

If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

SR is making a million a week, now; it ain't going anywhere anytime soon.  It has sustainable hit all over it.  And it doesn't need stars, though watch people from TV and elsewhere line up for roles when these people exit.

All signs point to Groff being in.

This is purports to be an interview about the move to Broadway, although none of the quotes from Groff specifically say so.

Groff is in, per Broadway.com

I know they've added to the ensemble.  I've heard Emmy Raver-Lampman is the standby for Soo and Goldsberry, but I can't confirm it.

I tried to buy tickets to this yesterday and my goodness are they expensive!! $300+ for orchestra seats and almost $200 for mezz. That makes it incredibly hard to go see for us. Have there been other places where you can buy tickets for this where its not quite so expensive??

photo, where and for when are you finding such prices? I see lots of tickets for $89 and up after the first of the year. Obviously, you are not going to find any for dates in the next 6 months as it is virtually sold out until 2016, and anything you do find is going to be premium.
