In town for two nights only. Seeing Be More Chill the first night. The second night ,should I see Tootsie or The Prom?? I feel absolutely torn.
Please let me know which I should choose and why
If you are planning on being back in the next year, I'd go with The Prom. In case it closes before you return. Tootsie should still be here for your next visit.

This is a tough one cause they both sound pretty fabulous...I am seeing both next week for my annual NYC theater trip. Are you familiar with the movie Tootsie? and if so how interested in the story are you? I am super excited to see both but I just feel like the Prom might not be around that much longer where Tootsie has alot of buzz. If you get to the city often maybe you can see Tootsie on your next trip:)

Tootsie hands down. Haven't laughed so hard in a long time.
I'd go with The Prom - then you'll have a "high school" trip :)
Without spoiling anything: The Prom was better than I expected (but my expectations weren't that high) and Tootsie was quite underwhelming.
Are Tootsie and Prom your only 2 options? If not, I highly recommend Hadestown.
If you added BMC to your list to pick from, that would likely end up in third place, but because of it, The Prom does seem to be a good pairing...

I saw both this weekend. I think I actually enjoyed Tootsie more, even though it's still a little rough about about 20 minutes too long. But both are very clever, entertaining shows performed by top-notch Broadway veterans. No Pulitzer-Prize winning material by any means, but a fun night at the theatre.

I thought this too
TOOTSIE hands down. It will be this year's THE PRODUCERS. After it opens to rave reviews, it's going to be a very hot ticket!

I’d say The Prom, It’s far from a perfect show but you are going to laugh a lot and feel something

I think so, too.
Can't weigh in on The Prom as it's still on my list. But I've been impressed by what I've heard from seasoned theatergoers on these boards.
I'd still go for Tootsie, though.
The prom. the prom, the prom!
The story and the laughs are more genuine. The sonds more enjoyable and the book actually witty funny.
Ive had return visits to the prom. You couldnt pay me to revisit Tootsie.
