Tickets are held at will call for you to pick up. It says bring an ID, but when I won they did not ask for my ID. Good luck!

Posted: 5/30/19 at 1:58pmAny updates with those who have rushed/sro? Is it the same line people wait on? I was thinking of trying on Sunday since the box office opens later. Thanks.

Yes. Rush is when they open. SRO is 10 minutes before show time IF they are sold out.

Posted: 5/31/19 at 2:59pmWent this morning- got there around 5:30 am. There were about 8 people in front of me, including 2 people in a tent who had camped out since midnight. By 10 am, there were over 30 people. The box office only sold 6 tickets (I overheard that they were all singles, meaning pairs didn’t get to sit together). So 3 people walked away with tickets. It looks like you have to get there by 2 am for tickets - eek! There were no SRO tickets being sold at 10 am, by the way.

Wow. Did the majority of people on the Rush line move to the standing room only line....or does that line begin to form later on in the day? Thinking of trying on Sunday since the box office opens later.

No, none of the rush people moved to the SRO line. For some reason, the SRO line today was quite short. First person showed up right before 2pm. But by 7pm there were about 10 people. I think all of us got in.

Apparently the first person in line for today’s rush got there last night as that performance was letting out.
FWIW, there’s $130 orchestra tickets for tonight on SH right now. I just snagged one of those.

Posted: 6/1/19 at 9:27pmIs there a separate line that forms in the morning strictly for standing room only tickets on Saturdays, Sundays and Wednesdays for the matinees? Or do I have to stand on the rush line? Thanks!

I got here at 4:00pm and am fifth in line for SRO. There are around 13 people as of 5:00. This is on a Tuesday, for future reference.

I'm gonna try to get standing room tickets to the evening show but I've never done that before, most shows I've see are through lotteries. 2:30 seems about a good time to get there, but when I get there, how do you know where the line is? I'm assuming just ask around, but I'm a little nervous just cause it's new to me. Thanks in advance guys! (Also sorry if I posted this incorrectly just made an account lol)

If a line exists, there will be people waiting right outside the doors of the theater! Hard to miss. If you're not sure, you can always ask the people in line. If there's no one there when you get there, maybe check in with the box office first to let them know you're starting the line if you want to stake your claim definitively, though that's probably not necessary.

Hello!
I'm going to NYC to visit my brother for a few days and I figured this would be a good opportuniy to see some shows before the Tonys. However, I'm a broke college student so I'm planning on rushing for tickets. I've rushed many shows before, but I usually show up around 8:00 am and get tickets. I really, really want to see Hadestown, but I've heard that people start lining up the night before. Is this usually true for a Thursday night show? I am getting to the city Wednesday night, but I don't have anyone to wait with me and I don't think I'd be comfortable sitting outside of the theatre all night on my own. I am willing to get up very early to get in line, but my brother lives about 20 blocks from the Walter Kerr and I don't know how safe it would be if I were to be walking around the city in the middle of the night by myself. Does anyone have any tips on what time I should get to the theatre for rush tickets on a Thursday? Also, would it be safe for me to walk to the theatre in the middle of the night?
Also, I'm new to this website and I don't really know how these message boards work so I really hope I am posting this in the correct place. I may have accidently posted this message twice so I'm sorry if you are seeing this again!
Thank you and I really appreciate any help I can get!

I wouldn't go later than 2 or 3 am to have a decent shot at tickets. 11pm if you want to be sure. If you're unwilling to do that though you can also swing by later and see how many are in line. Remember there are as few as 6 tickets and each person can get two max.
As for safety I am a young women and have never felt unsafe in that area, including at all hours of the night. It's well lit, there's plenty of people around. Times square at 1am isn't much different than times square at 1pm

Posted: 6/4/19 at 11:00pmI rushed last Wednesday, I woke up at 4:30am, took a bus from another state and arrived at NYC at 7:30am. arrived at 8am sharp at walter kerr, sat for 2 hours and got a rush ticket for the matinee. I was about the 10-20th person in line Nd it was a two-show day. It was tiring for me but it was also very lucky of me to get a sit for only 2 hours waiting in line.

If you're not comfortable with camping out all night for tickets, you might want to try Standing Room Only, as that seems to be a more reasonable wait that happens in the day time. There should be some recent posts on this thread about it.
Good luck!

Posted: 6/5/19 at 10:59amI’m going to attempt to either rush or go for SRO next Sunday. Do people still line up around 2am on sundays when the box office opens later? And if we try to go the SRO route do you think showing up to wait around 11am/noon for the 3pm show would work? This is my only chance to see the show so want to have as safe of a bet of getting tickets as possible.

Posted: 6/5/19 at 11:01amI walked past today (Wednesday) at 8:30am and there were 40 people in line. I asked the first and she arrived at 11:30pm. Not sure if this will apply for Sundays but hope it helps you make your plans.

I am going to get to the theatre tonight as soon as I’m done seeing my Wed evening show to wait for rush tickets. Not sure if it’s allowed here, but would get a second ticket to someone who would be willing to pay for both. Send me a message, and apologies again if this isn’t allowed!

Their SRO policy seems like such a hassle. I mean, the show is selling out, so why not just sell them when the box office opens? I walked by the theater last Saturday(before both shows oddly enough) to see the SRO line kind of mixed in with the line for people with tickets waiting to get inside the theater. I would think it would be easier for the box office if they didn't wait until 10 minutes before curtain to sell them. Even an hour before would seem better.

Right. How DARE they make it slightly more difficult to get really cheap tickets to a sold out show!!
