Why is everyone casting 800 year old Edna's? Seeing a fifty-sixty year old man in drag from the balcony is a lot different than HD close-ups on TV. Tracy is in high school. Edna can very easily be forty and played by a younger than that actor.

I was just thinking that Selena Gomez might be a good Penny. She's a big enough name to draw in viewers and she can sing and act.

she does not have the vocal chops. Penny is a more difficult character to sing than most people realize. you've really gotta have a strong, steady belt. selena doesn't have that. at all.

Ariana Grande really should be Penny.  She was fantastic on SNL, and would be great here.  Hailee Steinfeld could play Amber.

Steinfeld is no Amber but Grande as Penny is a very good idea. I can't imagine she will be available, though. What other "pop star" has participated in any of these broadcasts? Ne-Yo is not as popular as Grande and Carly Rae Jepson is NOT a "star," she's a one-hit wonder.  I just don't see any MAJOR pop star participating in this....

she is a major country star but she is not a pop star. believe it or not, there is a huge difference.... i would also suggest that her being THE star of the broadcast and the lead role is quite different than someone like Grande playing a supporting role. it's not even comparable...

A lot of the men I thought could go for Link are starting to fill up their schedules, Nick Jonas and Darren Criss included.

I wonder if they will go with a newcomer for him as well?

I hope we hear some more casting soon. I also can't wait to see what they do with the costumes and sets.  I would love to see Idina Menzel as Velma
