I attended The Visit last night and noticed the show specific targeted ad for Hand to God.
"REVENGE IS A DISH
BEST SERVED COLD...
OR WARM...
OR HOT...
LIKE CHITA."
On the train, another theatergoer was thumbing through their playbill for Fish in the Dark and I spotted that ad, which I believe was: "SEE YOU IN HELL, LARRY"
I know there was a different one for The King and I, which I saw last Thursday, but I don't have that playbill handy.
It's pretty clever marketing campaign and I was wondering if others might be able to share the captions for other shows I have yet (or won't get a chance) to see.

In the Hedwig playbill it was " Why so angry? I'd be happy with an inch".

For Hedwig, "Why so angry? I'd be happy with an inch."
ETA- ^You beat me to the punch while I went into the other room to get my playbill.
These ads are a great idea. The marketing for this show has been a lot of fun to watch between the ads themselves and the different ticket promotions they've cooked up. I'm looking forward to seeing what they make of the reviews the show has received.

Love these! Gentlemen's Guide also has similar stuff on their social media that's pretty funny (i.e. We love to Wrap! when Holler If Ya Hear Me opened, etc etc.)

There isn't one in the Gigi opening night Playbill. I guess they are trying to appeal to a certain audience.

Something Rotten's was nice and simple:
"ROTTENER (with arrow pointing down to Tyrone)"

I don't think they necessarily make it into every Playbill. At Fun Home last night I didn't see any ad for Hand to God.

Nothing in Matilda. I agree, these will probably only be present in show geared to adults.

This past Tuesday, April 7th. I can take a pic when I get home.

Wow, that's awesome. Shows do pick which other shows' Playbills they purchase ad space for, so it's common for ads to appear in some shows and not others based on the perceived crossover audience.

They are only in April playbills, so if a show has not yet switched over for some reason, you will not get them. I know Fun Home has them, my playbill from yesterday has one.

Ya. When the next month's edition of Playbill gets shipped to the theatre, they will continue to finish passing out the old issues until they run out. Some areas of the theatre run out before others, so those areas might begin passing out new issues before others do. Once my friends in the mezz got color playbills while I received b&w in the orch. Mine was the new issue, but I went upstairs to grab myself one in color.

When I saw Fish in the Dark on April 1, they gave me a March Playbill but the ad that says "See Ya in Hell, Larry" from Hand to God was indeed in there so maybe it's April for all shows. I definitely don't see them doing an ad in Wicked or The Lion King, Aladdin, or Matilda though. :)

Bump- any others out there? These are fantastic. I'd love to see pix of the ads if anyone was willing to upload them.

Those are the only two that I have. Every other Playbill I have from shows like GIGI, SOMETHINGS ROTTEN, VISIT etc. don't have these in it, so I guess they just started putting them in.
