Yes he does but he does so swiftly as to get home to let the dog out.

i hope that his habits have changed, but when i saw him in fiddler on the roof, he signed autographs but was not very kind about it. it almost seemed like it was a nuisance that there were people anxiously waiting to meet him. and he definitely didn't do any photos.

He may have just been tired. When I saw Rock of Ages in Pittsburgh, Constantine Maroulis didn't seem very enthusiastic about meeting his fans. He wasn't rude, but you could tell he was drained. Whatever the case, I hope Harvey isn't a stooge about stage-dooring like Nathan Lane.
When I saw A Catered Affair, Harvey seemed very rushed and not very happy, but he did sign for everyone and do pictures.
He's never been very nice at te stage door and from what I've seen he will not sign anything from any other show. I've seen him tell fans to put that stuff away because he knows they're going to sell it on eBay.
Because we all know how much Harvey Fierstein autographs sell for on eBay.
He signed my Hairspray cast recording at A Catered Affair.
He signed my Catered Affair cast recording at the stage door of Hairspray (when he went back into the show for the last few weeks).
If you make him mad, he'll shiv you.
I'm afraid to ask him to sign anything I own from LEGS DIAMOND...scared that he might get mad (he wrote the book for that show).

when I met him at the stage door of la cage at the end of his first week he was less than charming. He came out and started complaining how he was cold and tired saying, "mama's gotta do this twice tomorow hurry up." also told my friend to "hurry up bitch" when his camera took too long to take a picture. He also told me not to ebay him to death as I had a La cage original cast LP and 2 playbills. He told me I didnt have a record player and to pick one or two things for him to sign. Woof.
Despite what everyone said already, when i seen the show, he was very bubbly at the stage door, he smiled and you could tell he was tired, but that's obvious as to why and very understandable, but he was riot to have banter with, as i was hoping he would be!
So like everyone else, just depends on what mood he is in, if he's ahppy, talkative, tired, grumpy etc...
saw him at fiddler stage door and he was super duper duper nice... stayed talking to us for bout 20 minutes, and we took a bunch of funny pictures together, but there were only about of us at the door that night, and I guess he wasn't in a hurry. My friend gave him a lollipop and he loved it.
When I saw him in FIDDLER he punched me in the face and then Patti LuPone popped out and kicked me in the shin!
You got it easy with Patti. Someone was waiting to see her go in for Women on the Verge and she wrung his neck. He didn't end up enjoying the show.
