LB collected at Today's (12/ matinee.
(I was pretty proud of my 8th graders...about 75% of them donated.)
I picked up a copy of Carols for a Cure.
The statistics on teen age AIDS cases are up, so Good for your 8th graders, I salute them!
SPRING AWAKENING should follow LEGALLY BLONDE,
And all other shows also.
I agree, CPD!! There is no excuse for anyone not to collect when they are perfectly able to. Not everyone is in such an enviable position! Shame on Spring Awakening. Even tours & small regional companies have stepped up!
It seems SA collects for night performances, and not matinees.
I saw the matinee of The Farnsworth invention yesterday and they made the speech and collected. I believe 2 or 3 cast members were at the doors.

Legally Blonde collected today, and (appropriately) Kate Shindle made the announcement.
...
Frankenstein was collecting last night and had signed posters for sale. Hunter said they had up until last night raised $8200 and were hoping to clear $10K before they closed today.

Legally Blonde has raised 100,000 of their 150,000.
DRSisLove, that's not true. They didn't collect Thursday night.
CURTAINS is collecting now? Did they start late?

When I saw Curtains a week and a half ago, they were collecting. But I don't know when they started.
Young Frankenstein collected on Friday

Sorry, I stand corrected! I had only heard of them collecting at night shows and not during the matinees.

Spring Awakening did not collect after this evening's show.
That sucks
they should be ashamed.
I know for sure that SA did not collect past the original end date whoich was last Sunday 12/2, despite the fact that they lost three weeks. Totally sucks!!
As someone outside the industry, can someone help me understand why a cast would not want to collect? I understand that there are more people involved in that decision than just the cast (for example, the dressers/security/etc have to wait for the cast members to finish collecting before they can go home), and we do not know who the decision-makers are at Spring Awakening or any other show. But in terms of the cast itself, if the actor is not interested in participating, all they have to do as far as I know is stay on stage for about 2 - 3 more minutes while the announcement is being made (or they could just scoot off at the beginning of the announcement along with the collectors and not spend any additional time onstage), so how much are they really affected? I'm sincerely asking -- I imagine that there might be parts of the equation I'm not taking into account.
You are actually correct.
If anyone wants to leave, no one stops them.
And yes it means staying a few more mins. each show.
As far as the other crew members. every show I have worked on, there is always someone willing to stay to do the pick up work.
It really is embarrasing that people have more important things to do then help others less fortunate then themselves.
Saw Curtains last Wednesday afternoon and they collected. They also had signed playbills and posters. Hyde Pierce also talked about the Christmas CD and said it was also onsale at the theater. Saw August:Osage County last Thursday and they didn't collect. I have given off-Broadway in the past and Fuerzabruta didn't collect yesterday. The Homecoming didn't collect on Saturday afternoon when I saw it but I read on another thread that shows don't collect until they officially open. I don't get that.

Are there any other signed YF items?! I'm more of a Playbill/CD kind of guy. I don't have enough wall space for posters!
What about Xanadu? Anybody been lately?

dramamama, why did you decide to take your 8th grade students to see Legally Blonde?
YF, as far as I know, only has the poster.
SA no longer collects.
