Saw it last week. Loved the show. Loved even more that most of the audience was young. Something that grabbed the attention of future theatre goers. Made an old guy happy to see

Bought the cast album and am obsessed with every song already

Hated it with a passion. Juvenile and amateurish and I am being kind here.

To those who liked it, I am sorry but that is how I see it. If you enjoyed it, I am glad. Just was not my cup of tea.

It seems that I'm a bit late to the game, but I just got the cast CD and am quickly becoming obsessed with it. It reminds me so much of BAT BOY, which I loved. I wish I could see the actual show before it closes.

I also own the cast recording and find myself listening to it a lot. Have had the chance to see the show a few times and have really enjoyed it. I will admit that I wasn't crazy about it the first time however the opening number and Seventeen won me over immediately. I also love the Lifeboat song and she delivers that dialouge leading up to the song perfectly.

Mr. Roxy, that's how I felt about Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson. I would have expected any artistically inclined group of high school students to come up with something better. However, I thought Heathers was quite good. I could have done without the one song (you'll know which one I meant) But the rest of the score was pretty good. The performances were first rate. I found the show clever, enjoyable and ultimately surprisingly moving. I saw Bullets, Hedwig, Violet and Lady Day ;ast trip. Truthfully I preferred Heathers. Neil and Audra were great, but their shows didn't excite me. Why on earth did Lena Hall win a Tony? Violet, as you phrase it, wasn't my cup of tea, and Bullets was a disappointment. But I did like Casa Valentina a lot, which I also saw. I have famously bad taste when it comes to theater. I'm usually on my own in my opinions.

I loved Batboy but hated this.

Andrew Jackson was another trip to amatuerland.

Put me in the loved Heathers camp. And Bat Boy (in London with the delightful Emma Williams.)

I did hate Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson.

The songs in Heathers were fun and appropriate for the time. The "less is more" staging kept your attention on the actors. Lighting design was top notch, and the energy and enthusiasm of the cast really sold the show.

I'm puzzled by the love this show is getting, but if it's making other people happy, more power to them.

I felt like every song except Martha's solo felt like Bat Boy had been put into a blender and then slowly dribbled out. I also have no inherent love for the movie (I never saw it), so I don't have that nostalgia to hang onto either.

Much like NEXT TO NORMAL, I think it's just one of those "angsty" shows the tweens are latching onto.

Are any of you fans of the movie and did not like the musical? I love love love the movie, but I am apprehensive about seeing it in musical form.

Of course I feel the same way about Once and Once won a truckload on Tonys. I still don't want to see it because I enjoyed the movie so much and thought the story was told appropriately through the intimacy of a camera lens that I am unsure if I'd buy it on stage with choreography.

So, Roxy why is it ok for YOU to crap all over the shows you dislike? You blamed haters for being at fault for your beloved Rocky closing, but here you are trashing a show. Trust me when I say I am not championing Heathers as I have no opinion on it.

What's good for the goose and all.

If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

I very much enjoyed the show. I say this as not insult to the production, but I am curious to see its future life because I feel as though what is on the page is much stronger and has much more bite that the physical production and direction, however well cast it is, shows.

I love the movie. The show is faithful, yet different enough that you can take its own merit. Times are different now, so the tone of the original film would mot work in a fresh adaption. It works on its own level, with a few surprises along the way, while retaining the iconic and classic moments and lines... Often in new ways that catch you off guard and leave those who love the film waiting for it and then screaming in appreciation when they are given. If you have seen the show, you know the two moments where that is most apparent... For one of them, the crown generally goes wild.

If you read my post you will see that I said that if you liked it I was glad. Basically none of the Rocky haters could envision anyone liking the show.I guess only those select few can say they do not like a show. I was not actively campaigning and having every other phrase I uttered saying what a turd of a show it was.This is yet another example of why I am disillusioned with Brodway

Your arguments are always one sided. YOU get to bash, but no one else does.
I saw Rocky. I was bored silly. (And I loved the movie, and I really liked the cast, I've been a big fan of Andy Karl's.) I would never begrudge someone else's enjoyment of it, MOST of us wouldn't. My 13 year old liked it a lot (although it's not even close to one he puts in his top ten).

EVERY show is going to have those that love it or hate it. The truth is: it failed because not enough people could be convinced to see it. NOT because of this site or anyone's "hate" of it.

I thought The Scottsboro Boys was one of the most wonderful things I'd ever seen. I have no idea why it failed, but trying to find BLAME is ridiculous. Unless, maybe, you have a financial stake in this or a future show.

To me Broadway is one big tax write off.

I am cynical these days after a lifetime of playgoing and enjoyment.I will always love musicals and cast albums and straight plays.The drive to run to see a show is gone forever for many reasons and will not return.

The dumbing down of the audience plus the insane hero worship of some fans toward stars is a turnoff as well.

VietGirl... I am a fan of the film, but live on the West Coast and haven't had a chance to see it, but have listened to the cast recording. It follows the plot of the film ok, but I really don't like the songs or the singing. I found the recording to be disappointing. I hate to admit it, but I like some of the If/Then cd better.

This is by far in my top five favorite shows of all time! I didn't enjoy the movie, so I was expecting not to like the musical. I LOVED it! I've seen it twice and I am planning on seeing closing night.

I love the movie, and enjoyed the show, but didn't fall in love. Probably going back one time before it closes, just to check in again.

Saw the show again today and loved it even more! Great, great show, and the physical comedy in the show makes it ever so different each time.

Also heard rumors from another audience member that the show is going to Broadway.
