hak5, I think the band's name in the show stays the same. The band itself is called Tits of Clay. I could be wrong, though.

I heard somewhere that the Angry Inch will be the Angry Inch in the show but their name as a band playing The Angry Inch is Tits of Clay.

Hello all, sorry for the confusion.... In the Belasco the band is most certainly The Angry Inch, but outside the theater, when they want to let their hair down they become Tits of Clay. They weren't Tits before they came together for the show, ToC grew out of the fact that they immediately knew they had something fun and they wanted to share it with the fans on a more intimate, less formed stage.... are you going to the show at the Mercury Lounge on March 15th? Welcome, Tits of Clay! We are all looking forward to the show. Don't mind the wordplay in this thread about the name of your band. And also don't mind any anti-NPH snark you might see. Some of us loved the original production so much that we can seem overly protective of it. But most of us are excited to see Neil play the part and think he'll be spectacular.

But remember: one false note, and your Tits of Clay will be mud. So if you can't take the heat, stay away from the message boards! (Especially All That Chat--they're AWFUL there.)

Hi Joey.... We take our obligation to the show very seriously! That's why ToC was formed in the first place! The upcoming Mercury Lounge show (on March 15th get tickets now because there are only a few left) is an homage to the roots of the shows development, and judging from the reception from the first show we did I doubt we'll disappoint any true fan of the show.

As far as the snarky-ness, all I can say is, as someone who has seen every incarnation of this show from the first SqueezeBox! performance to the first rehearsals with NPH.... If you stay away you're going to miss something really special!

Well, for the lucky few who were at the Tits of Clay show tonight, NPH came out at the end and they ran through Tear Me Down, Midnight Radio, Angry Inch, and Sugar Daddy...

Get your tickets! NPH is ready to deliver! (One imagines video will show up soon, although they weren't supposed to play Sugar Daddy and asked for people to put their phones away, so we'll see how that worked for them)...

I'm curious about when the show is set. The original took place in present time and Hedwig was born on the other side of the wall. I'm wonder if the character's age has been reduced and the timeline shifted or if Harris is playing a 50+ something Hedwig.

The chunk of Tear Me Down I shot on my phone wasn't too bad, so I popped it on YouTube. After that, though, I decided I rather watch and experience a show in the present than preserve it for the future...
