This thread has been quiet for a while - just wondering how the line has been since Bette returned from her vacation a few weeks ago? Feel like I need to make a second visit soon...

Line varies every day. Seriously consider doing the stub hub 30 minutes before showtime and run thing.

What is the 'Stub Hub 30 minutes before showtime thing' you speak of?

Hey guys! I plan on rushing it on Saturday 8/12 and was wondering what time would be best to get there for the $47 tickets. I'll have 2 people with me, and I'd prefer matinee but the evening would be fine too.

Tickets that are on Stub Hub tend to drop in price the closer it gets to show time.
I want to see Donna - but from a decent seat - so I might try the Stubhub thing. But is there anywhere to print that is close to Times Sq?

Just checking rush/SRO is still a thing - walked past at 6:45am originally expecting to rush something else and there didn't seem to be anyone in line so hope I'm lucky and not wasting my time if I wait!

What did you end up getting and when did others join you in line?
I went at the beginning of the month, on a Wednesday, two show day.
You honestly only need to get there at around 8am on a weekday. I got there at 6:30am and was 6th in line on a two-show day. Everyone in front of me was getting single, matinee tickets. The crowd picks up around 8:15am. For the hottest ticket in town, it was incredible to think the people sitting right in front of me paid $250 for their seats. Suckers!!!
It really varies every day. Most devotees to Bette or Dolly have gotten their tickets in advance. It is a older and/or or more sophisticated audience. They got money. The people going to see this show in general are not informed of standing room tickets, cancellations, rush tickets.. and so on. So for those of us here and that know.... SRO tickets for this show are great. But there are days when you can walk to the box office after 10 am and you will be the first person to ask for a SRO ticket. And there are days when the line slowly starts at 5 am.

That's what I was thinking when I was trying to determine what time to get there. Hello Dolly/Bette Midler fans are not going to be sitting on the street to get a ticket -- they already have a ticket. Dolly is catering to a much different crowd than Evan Hansen. Could you imagine the line for DEH if they had a rush or standing room?

There were a couple more people around 8am and about 8 or so by 9am. Not sure what the final total was but probably less than 20 - and certainly much, much shorter than CFA or Comet which I walked past straight after. They only offered me SRO.
That makes sense about the demographic explaining it t but it still feels like such a steal! Last time I was in the city and rushed was in fact for DEH back in Jan before they switched to a lottery and yes after that was not expecting it to be this easy.
Hi everyone! After perusing this thread, it seems like a weekday is my best bet to get SRO. Has anyone tried for SRO recently and what advice do you have? I saw the production with Donna already but really hoping to catch it with Bette when I'm in town next month. Thanks!

Bump.
Rushing tomorrow....it's Sept and usually I find shows easier to rush with the summer crowds gone. How's it been at Dolly this week?

Almost forgot to post this! I rushed Sat. 9/2 and arrived around 7:30 AM, where there were only 4 people in front of us. We were able to get SRO 8-12 (there were 3 of us) and everyone else in the line was able to get what they wanted.
Side note: the play that goes wrong is a good thing to rush as a second show.

Sorry if this was already answered, but how many SRO tickets per person?

Any updates on arrival times? Trying to get SRO for tomorrow's matinee, would showing up at 9am ish be too late? Thanks guys!
I'm headed to NYC this week and considering doing SRO for Hello Dolly on a weekday morning. I had really wanted to see Donna Murphy but she's not on this week (I don't think).
It's my vacation so I"m not really digging the three hour wait in the morning - however, if I"m up early, I might be game. It would be so much fun to see Bette - I'm sure she's great in this role.
What other options are there for rush tickets if the Dolly SRO line seems too crowded? I see someone recommend the Play That Goes Wrong, but I'm looking for more musical recommendations - currently I have tickets to see Sweeney Todd, The Band's Visit and the NYC Ballet.
Any suggestions would be welcome!! Thanks.
I'm coming in from out of town tomorrow (Saturday 10/7) but won't be there early enough to get in line. If any one is planning on getting a single standing room ticket for the matinee, I'd gladly pay for yours if you would get a second one for me!
