I'll go on record as saying that I found Sally Struthers Hilariously funny as Roz in Ogunquit's 9 To 5. Add to that, at intermission, many people were talking about how Miss Struthers was even funnier than she was in the last show there. She has incredibly good comic timing and knows just how long to milk a joke. She never pulled herself out of the character and I appreciated her humor.
And, I watched her get food stuck in her throat during the dinner scene, but she didn't act bothered at all. She simply walked off stage right and motioned to the stage manager that she was choking, and turned her back to him. He gave her the Heimlich maneuver and she walked right back out on stage and finished the show.
BEST THEATRICAL ANECDOTE EVER!
They're goona need a fork lift for Dolly!
How much you wanna bet they change the line to "Wow wow wow fellas, look at the little goil now, fellas!"
One time backstage at Hollywood Squares we were doing Blondes Have More Fun week or some such nonsense. Sally Struthers spots Carol Channing and puts her arms out and says "Carol!" and la Channing goes "BARBARA! How nice to see you!" and Sally goes "It's Sally!" and Carol goes "Yes, of course, SALLY!"
Funny stuff.

Don't remember the character's name but in NINE TO FIVE Struthers played the secretary who is sent off to learn French.
