Posted: 4/24/06 at 6:37pmJust Me, I liked it in NY as well. I thought Christina was very good. I've seen Molly Ringwald in "Cabaret" and I liked her as well. Maybe I will have to get down to San Jose. I don't really like that theatre but it doesn't look like it will come to SF.

Yeah, I'm not a big fan of the theater there either (is it AMT? - the cavern?), but I'd like to see the tour and see how it goes with Ringwald.

Are there any demo recordings of Butz, Scott, Murney and Colella?
Yep, it's about 6 songs and has been floating around for a little bit...

Posted: 4/24/06 at 7:08pmWhat do you guys think of that odds that Norbert, Sherrie, Julia, etc. will sign on to start off in Boston and then head to New York? (I realize Norbert has a contract for a sitcom).

Posted: 4/24/06 at 7:18pmI personally doubt that he'd do the Boston run...but if it came to New York it would be AMAZING if he was in it. He sounds great in it.

Posted: 4/24/06 at 8:25pmA show is a show. They aren't going to do a pre-broadway tryout with one cast and then add the stars in NYC. That would be futile.

Posted: 4/24/06 at 8:30pmWow, I've never been to a pre-Broadway tryout. Do you guys think they will student rush?

Murney is in Wicked right now and on the demo was playing the part of the mother which she is far too young for, so chances would be non-existentish for her...Although on her solo CD she did record one of the songs from the show "Perfect," She's amazing on it...
Damn you Bostonians with your High Fidelity, and your accents, and your tea...

It doesn't seem to be one of the huge buzz shows that they don't do rush for (Spamalot, Wicked, etc). From what I've heard of the upcoming season, I doubt any of the shows for next season fall into the uber-popular category.

Can you still get a copy of any of the music?
Maybe if I heard it I would be a little more at ease...

Posted: 4/24/06 at 10:48pmI LOVE this book/movie and can't wait for the cast recording, since I can't see the show. I just really hope that they don't bastardize it.

Super excited now, that I'll be going to school in Boston!
It's a great book and film... so excited to see the musical!
Edit: Does anyone know the price range of the season ticket package. Maybe I can con a relative into giving it to me as a graduation present!

It goes to b'way in December after it's run in Boston.
I've never seen the movie however, so I couldn't tell you if they're bastardizing it or not, Spidey! I'll have to watch it now...

What exact demos are out there?
Can anyone list the songs and artists on the various demos out there? I have one with 4 songs:
Too Tired - Jenn Colella
She Goes - Julia Murney
Desert Island - Norbert Leo Butz
Perfect - Sherie Rene Scott
What else is out there? I'm very interested because these songs sound GREAT.
Evidently @ the preview "Leslie (who played Rob's good friend) belted out 'She Goes'" rather than as his mother, so there may be a chance for Julia to come in and play that character.
Julia? and Sherie? and Norb? OH MY!

Posted: 5/25/06 at 10:05amI wouldn't get too excited about getting all of those people in the cast. It isn't happening.

Posted: 5/25/06 at 10:35amI'm so worried about this musical. The book and the movie are very high on my own personal top 5 lists. But I'm worried about a transfer to stage, leave well enough alone and whatnot. But does anyone know if they are adapting the book or the movie? And will it be set in England or Chicago?

On the demo, Sherie is orgasmic on the song perfect.... it's such a beautiful song. I didn't know ZJulia also did a version of it! Must HEAR!
Can't. Wait. For. This. SHOW!

I'm pretty sure, but don't quote me on it, that it's taking place in NY actually.
But from what I've heard they are taking the moments from both the book and the movie. There are references to specific moments in the movie but more of a feeling of the book, from what I'm told.
