I just saw it last night! One of the biggest disgraces to musical theater I have ever seen. But I couldn't stop watching...

Some middle schoolers who are in a show with me talk about nothing but High School Musical. It's going to be preformed everywhere!

Most of the kids in the drama department at my school are obsessed with this movie...I foresee performing it sometime in the near future.

AARGH! No, this movie should never be adapted to the stage...leave it alone as is. *Cringes of thoughts of pre-teens and teens trying to emulate the movie*

although it's cheesy, I didn't despise it. I actually loved the finale song. I think I could defintely see the high schools and middle schools doing it for shows.
A dancer might dream to see her name in lights and mean it,
but all she really dreams is to make someone
else feel the way she did when she first saw a dancer.
And that is so beautiful-Anonymous

oh and they better transpose some of the songs down because its hard to use a pitch-corrector in a live show.

I really have no clue why people like this movie. When I watched it I had downloaded 2 of the songs from iTunes (Stick to the Status Quo and Breaking Free) and I thought they were pretty good, then I actually watched it and I thought it was terrible. As I said before I thought it's main flaw was that most of the songs were boring, or just plain stupid (when Getcha Head in the Game Came On I was almost emmbarresed to be watching it since my mom was in the other room).

One of my friends made me watch it the first time it aired. And I laughed through "Getcha Head in the Game". I thought the whole thing was so corny, I was actually embaressed for the people who were in it.

regardless of whether everyone liked it or hated it, chances are its going to make a lot of money. personally i liked it...i thought it was a little corny, but lets be real here people.... breaking out into song is corny regardless of what the show is youre talking about. so maybe you all should stop hating.... youre all closet high school musical fans anyway im sure....otherwise the soundtrack wouldnt be doing so well on the billboard charts, and they wouldnt bother releasing it on dvd. its a very popular movie for the channel. sorry you guys couldnt be a part of the success, but thats no reason to bash it.

You're acting as if I don't have a valid reason for disliking it. IT'S EXTREMLY BORING!!!! Most of the songs are not memorable WHATSOEVER!
Although I will be the first to admit not all of the songs are terrible, I would NEVER recommend this move to ANYONE!!!

you can dislike it all you want, but bottom line is a lot of people worked really hard on it. just because you didnt like it doesnt give you liscence to bash it, and act like its not a legit pecie of work. no one is asking you to like it or perform in it, or even watch it for that matter. there is no need to be so malicious and negative. its doing very well, and its very popular, you should be happy for the people involved in it, and hope that maybe one day you can be involved in something thats is that successful. its really not about opinion, its about respect. be respectful. if you dont like it, then fine you dont like it, but people dont have to bash it and say its boring and worthless and shouldnt exist. I dont like CATS, or BYE BYE BIRDIE, personally i think they are the most boring shows out there, but i respect the people involved in the creation of those shows, and i hope that maybe ill be a part such a successful show as CATS. negativity gets you no where, it just makes you bitter, and resentful.
