Oh I thought of another one - Our Town. Saw it performed at my high school and didn't think I was going to make it through. I don't know if it was because it was an amateur performance or what but I didn't enjoy it.

our own is written by thorton wilder who is in fact SATAN (he also moonlights as dick cheney but thats another story) all of his plays are incredibly boring

Our Town- I love this show- there's more to it than just the 'living in the town' story.
What did I think was boring? ...I've tried to like every show I've seen. But here:
1) Cats
2) Joseph (after about 2 productions, it got really boring...)
When I saw Rent last year I was quite bored at almost every moment except for "Over the Moon."
However...I did see the original cast and I was anything but bored. It was quite exhilirating, actually. The problem when I saw it last year was that the actors were not ACTING. Most of the people who I've seen in that show are just energetic (or...non-energetic) singers. The book sorely lacks any character development that makes me care about the characters...so it does take great people in the majority of the roles to keep it interesting. That's it's problem. Not to mention the plot easily gets lost unless....once again...the actors handle it all very carefully.
jane eyre and civil war (i must admit i was little but i liked the music and the subject but i remember being bored)
Musical - last revival of Oklahoma
Play - Waiting for Godot
Now for the flamable part -
I was also terribly bored with The Full Monty and Miss Saigon.
I'm not sure if I've been bored by shows, as opposed to being frustrated by certain productions. Last season's "Jumpers" comes to mind. Usually, I love the esoteric use of language that Tom Stoppard employs. But the nature of the whole piece confounds me. The plot, the monologues, etc. Essie Davis was the best part, but I still don't understand her character.
Al Pacino's Herod in "Salome" was just AWFUL. Whiny and mincing. But Salome is hardly a boring play.
Roundabout Theatre's production of Pinter's "The Caretaker" made me yawn a bit. More due to the miscasting of Patrick Stewart and Kyle MacLaughlin than anything else. For a play that was supposed to be about conflict with a stranger, it was totally devoid of conflict.
Cats, Lion King, Crazy For You and 42nd St. were very hard for me to sit through. On the other hand, Dirty Blonde and Carousel went by very quickly.
Did I hear CIVIL WAR!!!! Grrr!!! THE CIVIL WAR is the best musical score ever written!!!
In no particular order:
1. Miss Saigon. I wanted to like it. I really did. I listened to the OLC recording before I saw the show and I hoped maybe it would be better in person. And it was. But it was by no means great. (The sets were, though.) Sorry to sound harsh, but I almost breathed a sigh of relief when Kim finally shoots herself. It woke me up. Literally.
2. Cabaret. But I think this was just because I didn't like the cast very much. It seemed like it could have potential. (This and Miss Saigon were the only two non-eq. tours I've seen and while I don't think that Non-Equity = Lower Quality, I've gotta say, I'm a bit nervous going into the Rent tour which is coming to Vancouver next month because of it.)
3. Blast! Gaaah. I tried to sleep but the drums gave me migraines. Booooring. I even saw a few of the local TV personalities sneak out during intermission.
4. The Boy From Oz. I love Hugh Jackman. I could eat him up with a spoon. (Or we could just spoon. Whatever.) But if not for him and the talented cast, I don't think I could've sat through all of it.
5. The Music Man. *yawn*
That's it for now. Although I tried to watch the OBC of The Producers yesterday (not, er, in person. *coughnudge*), and the parts I saw were boring too.
Even some of the shows that I DO like (i.e. Aida, Phantom, Wicked, just off hte top of my head) have their boring parts. But for me, these 5 stand out the most.
Dont murder me:
Les Miz
God, almighty! I thought I was in the theater for three years! The songs are good, but oy vey!
and
Evita
Yawn, yawn, yawn!
bronxboundexpress - as i said i was little and i LOVED the music and the setting but i remember thinking the story line was boring - now that could have been me just thinking as a foolish child it was too long but i do love the music even now

guys and dolls, i have to fight to stay awake in that show
and floyd collins with the exception of some great music
Yeah that's fine. There is no story I know. It doesn't work as a stage show and I think we just need to associate it as a concept album.
Titanic the musical. I definitely chose to see this because I was in 7th grade and it was during the time of the titanic movie which I of course, as a 12 year old girl had an obligation to be obsessed with. But yeah, it was so boring.
Also, in general I think shows are just not as fun when I haven't listened to the CD to get pumped. The first time I saw Chicago I thought it was boring, but I just saw it again 2 weeks ago after getting into it from the movie and knowing every song and I loved the stage production this time!
The Buddy Holly Story
Caroline (so kill me)
Titanic (it couldn't sink fast enough)
42nd Street...I think I fell asleep, literally. That or I was pondering whether or not to take the 6:15 train or the 6:50. Shows how into that show I was!
Don't get me wrong, the dancing was great, but everything else was horrible.
"Also, in general I think shows are just not as fun when I haven't listened to the CD to get pumped"
I think thats funny because I can't stand knowing the music before I see the show.
For all you people who don't like Miz, thats fine cause that means less people will audition for it and I get a better part. HA!
Music Man is just stupid. I like Till There was You just for solo purposes but otherwise....blah..
Don't understand all the hoopla about Grease either, or Annie (I mean what the hell, how does something that THAT become so popular but Assassins closes early?)
there is a hard-to-explain but undeniable connection between actors and ADD or OCD. creative types often tend to display certain characteristics of both.
