Of course Armie Hammer is going to be there. Who could resist the allure of the star of the latest Uwe Boll movie?
Little bit disappointed that Kurt Russell and Garth Brooks are going to be there.

"The 48th class of The Kennedy Center Honorees will be saluted in a star-studded celebration that includes the likes of Tommy Hilfiger, Kurt Russell and Garth Brooks on Dec. 7, 2025.
A Kennedy Center spokesperson confirmed to the Daily Caller that the Kennedy Center Opera House will also be graced by the presence of Steven Wynn, Open AI co-founder and President Greg Brockman and actor Armie Hammer. The evening will include an appearance by Montana Tucker as the Honorees accept the recognition and gratitude of their peers through a series of performances and tributes. ...
Republican House Speaker Mike Johnson, Department of War Sec. Pete Hegseth and Department of Transportation Sec. Sean Duffy will also be guests at the event."
Sounds about as frightful as was expected. :(
Wow --- IF a bomb were to go off, it'd be a...good start???
And Tommy Hilfiger? Really?? I'd say he's going to alienate his client base --- except the gays had the smarts and good taste to move on from his tired ass "fashions" 20+ years ago.

I have always thought that Russell and Goldie Hawn are MAGA. But I do not know for sure. She has been a guest on the Megyn Kelly show. Not that it means anything.. but come on.

The 48th Kennedy Center Honors ceremony, honoring Sylvester Stallone, George Strait, KISS, Gloria Gaynor, and Michael Crawford, airs on CBS and streams on Paramount+ on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, at 8 p.m. ET/PT. While the gala happens on Sunday, December 6 with Trump and Melania in attendance, the main broadcast for viewers is on that specific date.
The Gala dinner with honorees is happening tonight.

I have never seen this many old men with bad plastic surgery in one room. Is this a White House ceremony or Liberace’s last orgy?

Apparently Kelsey Grammer and Laura Osnes we’re the Broadway “stars” to salute Michael Crawford.
I love Phantom and Michael is a huge part of that love, and this bull**** awards ceremony breaks my heart.
If I still had Spotify, I’d block his music from being played; but perhaps it’s me that was played all along.

Truly screw Laura Osnes, say what you want about Kristen Chenowith but atleast she isn't performing at Turning Point rallies.

Ms. Osnes has received two Tony Nominations for best actress in her career; some people may consider that good enough to be a "star".

show her picture to 10 people on the street and zero will know who she is, saying she is a star is laughable

Another piece from the Washington Post with minimal mention of who saluted the winners: Osnes, Kurt Russell, Grammar, Vince Gill, and Arturo Sandoval
I wonder just how dreary the evening was and what the telecast will be like.
It does note Trump has apparently secured $250 million for renovations and improvements and that fundraising from the Honors doubled previous years' receipts.

Coverage in The Guardian lists more of the talent saluting winners, including Garth Brooks, Miranda Lambert, Cheap Trick, Vince Gill.

Hey, that’s more Tony noms than Michael Crawford has. Maybe next year Osnes will win a Kennedy Center Honor. In Trump’s America, anyone can be a “star” as long as you kiss the right ass, look the right way, and exploit the right identity politics. (Helps if old man Trump has you on his Mar-a-Lago playlist.)

And, sadly, you can count on the building having his name installed on it, in bright gold lettering, and be named officially after this megalomaniac!

I truly doubt that but you never know. Osnes got asked because ever liberal associated with Broadway would not accept the opportunity to salute Michael Crawford at the awards due to Trump. Wouldn't have been nice if some Broadway legend overlooked their hatred of Trump for a few moments decided honoring Michael Crawford was more important. My personal opinion is that Kennedy Center awards should only be held when the POTUS is a Democrat. Why bother if a Republican is POTUS? Starting when Bush (43) was POTUS that all of a sudden people declined the award.

What you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Really. I said Laura Osnes was selected to honor Michael Crawford because no Broadway "star" would do it. That is not idiotic, it is the truth. I said my personal opinion was they should only hold Kennedy Honors only when a Democrat was POTUS. You obviously did not get I said that in "tongue and cheek" because doing such a thing truly would be stupid and idiotic. I guess for people like you it needs to be spelled out a little better -lol. Yes, I thought the world was a better place when performers/athletes could bestow or accept honor even when they did not like the current POTUS.

Even during Trump's first term, while I'm sure there are a few who declined, there was no problem finding distinguished honorees and high-profile peers to celebrate them. The difference this year is that Trump has seized the Kennedy Center, and the Honors, to be used as a tool to celebrate him and his garbage values. Of course it's going to be hard to find self-respecting people to be a part of this.

Well, we can set aside that Michawl Crawford shouldn't have even been getting a Kennedy Center Honor considering his contribution to the American Culture is being in Phantom for 10 months almost 40 years ago.
You seem to not understand that people don't want to be around Trump because he is an incredibly ****ty person and people do not want be his clowns to help him gain legitimacy. I know that idea is hard to grasp.

No.
It would have been nice if those recipients had respect for the Kennedy Center, and for the honor, and politely declined the egocentric whim of a megalomaniac Hitler wannabe.

This site's quote function is formatted absolutely horribly and people fail to actually improve it with their own editing when they write their posts responding to quotes so I can't fault someone for just copying and pasting the relevant bits.
