Posted: 4/18/08 at 1:42pmBased on the majority of negative reviews, just how long do you think the show can last now?

With Clay Aiken in Spamalot, all of Broadway is singing a collective "There! Right! There!" -Me-
"Not Barker, Todd is the only person I've ever known who could imitate Katherine Hepburn...in print." -nmartin-

#4re: How long will A Catered Affair Be Able to Last?

J,
Why isn't this a legitimate question? There are always threads on this site discussing why or when a show might close, the consequences of a show having low grosses and/or rumors about shows posting closing notices.
The reality here is A Catered Affair is a small show with a limited audience, which has become even more limited given the fact that the show was essentially panned. It seems reasonable to present the question as to whether or not the show can last even through the summer.

Posted: 4/18/08 at 2:23pmAgreed. What's the point of posting a mean spirited, negative thread?
#9re: How long will A Catered Affair Be Able to Last?
Posted: 4/18/08 at 2:24pmi was thinking the same- not the spirit to put over 24hr after the show opens. Give it a breathing chance - please!

Posted: 4/18/08 at 2:25pmI'm really not trying to be mean spirited. It seems to be a legitimate question even though I know there are a lot of fans of the show.

Posted: 4/18/08 at 2:25pmNot having seen it yet, I'll go out on a limb and say longer than Suzanne Somers but not as long as Phantom. But somewhere in that range, definitely.

There's a MULTIMEDIA on this link: I thought the song by Leslie Kritzer is beautiful!

Harvey also explains his 'confirmed' bachelor character. I will see the show the next week.. I kinda know what to expect! (no big production numbers) Well see if I like it or not?
BTW- In fairness--I just look at the show's box office numbers.. I think Its doing a little better than XANADU & PASSING STRANGE -and these are my two favorites!

Posted: 4/18/08 at 2:36pm6 hours is generous. I give it 6 minutes. Then maybe a show that's actually interesting can use the theater.

#25re: How long will A Catered Affair Be Able to Last?
Posted: 4/18/08 at 2:40pmActually, taz, probably not much. I've yet to see a single comp offered for it, and it hasn't even been on TDF. (it might have been early on, as I don't remember, but it certainly hasn't been on there recently)
