I could easily keep track because I save every playbill and every ticket stub and have since "forever"...I could go back 30 years and see what shows I saw and when (and how much they cost!!).

However, for this thread, I didn't have the motivation to write down each one..LOLOL so I guesstimated.

I try try and average one show per week in a given year. I don't think I've ever successfully done so..... Unless I would add in productions I directed or worked on.

All in in all I'd say 2015 was a great year of theater!

It wasn't my best year in terms of the number of Broadway shows I caught, but I did get in 10. Thankfully, I saw a lot of great regional theatre as well.

A couple years ago, an aunt gave me this for Christmas. It's been great for keeping track (at least of the tickets I physically have, and that fit, which are most)!

34 total, including repeat visits to Hand to God, Wolf Hall, Hir, and Fun Home.

I am a firm believer in serendipity- all the random pieces coming together in one wonderful moment, when suddenly you see what their purpose was all along.

If we're talking New York City only, I saw 8.  But as I live outside of Pittsburgh, that's not too bad. :)

Hand to God

Curious Incident x2

Fun Home

Hamilton x2

Spring Awakening

Sisters Follies: Between Two Worlds

If you add in touring companies and the Pittsburgh Public Theater, then I saw 13 more.

Motown

Pippin

The Phantom of the Opera

Dirty Dancing (unfortunately...)

Beautiful

A Gentlemen's Guide to Love and Murder

Mary Poppins

Gypsy

Kinky Boots

Cinderella

My Fair Lady

The Diary of Anne Frank

Servant to Two Masters

(Oh! And if you count our summer stock theater, I saw 6 more.  So a total of 27. Not too shabby for a small town stay-at-home-mom. How many shows.... )

Lizzie Curry & Kathy (and anyone else)  I certainly meant no criticism with my comments about keeping track.  Maybe I'll try to do so this year, maybe right in my notes app.  Probably won't last long. But I'll try!

If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

I for one didn't think your comment was critical in tone at all....and sometimes even I laugh at myself for saving every playbill and ticket for most everything I have seen (especially because I don't have unlimited storage space).

But over the years, I have misplaced a few and it's ALWAYS the one I am looking for...like I still have no idea which "Billy" I saw in Billy Elliot when I saw it later on in the run and that annoys the heck out of me. (Actually the only thing I specifically remember about that show was this amazing little dancer as one of the ballet girls who really stood out to me as so talented _ Ava De Mary who I saw in Matilda and Christmas story later on).

Lizzie Curry, thanks for the link! What a wonderful idea!!  My 14 year old niece will be seeing her first Broadway show (Hamilton) in May 2016 and I'd like to give her some place to store playbills/tix
