How much longer do the lion king and wicked tours have in them?

As the title states, I’m curious how much longer these two tours, in their current form, can last on the road. The current Lion King tour has been running since 2002(or 2017, depending on who you ask) and the Munchkinland tour of wicked has been open since 2009. Even omitting the shutdown time from the pandemic, the lion king has ran longer than the longest running Phantom tour. Any idea how far in advance they’re booking to?

I think these shows will be on the road for a long time to come still. They're both family blockbusters that do sellout gangbusters in most markets.

I wish producers would release the grosses for tours. I would love to get a better understanding on how well they sell.

Both are currently booked through August 2024. I guess the answer to your question is, “when will demand for family/kids shows die down?” because the chance of another major draw like those two coming anytime soon is very slim.

I am big. It’s the REVIVALS that got small.

I think that works be complicated, as many of these tours have audiences that come from season subscriptions.

They were able to release them in the past, not sure how season subscriptions have anything to do with grosses, except maybe inflating them a little.

Exactly. They used to report tour grosses in Variety every week. Subscriptions wouldn't complicate anything, as each individual show ticket is still valued at a specific price point.
