amen.
sometimes people dont opt to go equity on purpose.
saying all non eq is bad is not fair.
however i miss wedding singer and tina was AMAZING.
i loved this show.

To my knowledge, no one is born with an Equity Card. We were all non-equity at some time. For many reasons, some of us remain such, not neccesarily because we're not equals, but because we...oh I don't know...took time to raise a family or were forced to put our careers on hold to care for someone close to us, or just choose not to become Equity. In short, the biggest difference between Equity and non-Equity are the benefits, not the talent.
Back on topic. I enjoyed the Wedding Singer. I wasn't one of the fans that went ga-ga over it, but you're almost forced to enjoy a show that doesn't take itself seriously and is just there to entertain, at least I am. That's what I like so much about Curtains. I wish the tour all the success in the world.

Indeed, to say that this production or any non-equity production it's going to be bad just for that fact, is just ignorant.
Judge shows after you saw them.

I felt it was a throwback to shows from the 1950s, shows Ken Mandelbaums calls "Also-rans."
They might not have been the greatest shows ever, but they kept audiences entertained, actors and musician employed and a theater from being dark.
I still watch the Tony Awards number on that-site-that-must-not-be-mentioned from time to time, because it's a lot of fun.
And Stephen Lynch is cute.

Posted: 5/28/07 at 4:55pmI'm looking forward to seeing it also. It's part of next years season tix's. I thought that alot of tours used the set of the broadway show, if the show has closed. Wasn't All Shook Up the modified B-way set?

I miss the show, too. I had a "theatre first" when I saw it.
I had never taken a quick nap during a show before....

It won't have the great sets, or any of the talent
I can't comment on the talent as they haven't announced the cast, but the broadway sets were saved and are most likely being used for the tour.

"Wasn't All Shook Up the modified B-way set? "
Yes. They had most of the Broadway set.
Except some effects couldn't be done:
Example: The moving hills behind Chad during Roustabout or Ed during Blue Suede Shoes were cut.
I miss the Broadway verision of ALL SHOOK UP.

AND LESTAT!!!!

HA! I saw Lestat the same day I saw Wedding Singer for the first time...wonder which show I cared about and actually remembered.....
I really hope the tour is good, I'm sure there will be a lot of great talent, but I'm waiting to see if it does the show any justice. I just have a feeling it won't be quite as fun as the Broadway version, but we shall see...

I am also very excited for the tour!! Although they haven't announced any Chicago dates yet... and I don't think they will be able to for awhile, because we are basically out of theatres! It makes me really sad

a lot of performers are non-eq...unless ur on broadway being equity is pretty useless...it screws u out of a LOT of work outside of BROADWAY
as for the weddding singer
auditions were last week
and the tour is using the broadway set
