Cheyenne Jackson tickled me. AFTER ordering SoMMS a drink but NOT tickling him, and hanging out with Girly in his dressing room (where he DIDN'T tickle her) but BEFORE we got married. To others. And then he tweeted Boobs. He also tweeted he's good friends with some chick on "The Voice" who just happens to be good friends with Tink's ex. And I'm still married. Oh, and this just in: "Pettiness, spite, malice ....Such ugly emotions... So sad." - After Eight, talking about MEEEEEEEE!!! I'm so honored! :-)

Just think how cheesy a HS production of Phantom Of The Opera could be?!

Avenue Q.
And yes, I read the article that they are making a school version. They are going to make it appropriate for school. It's what I think of "dummying it down" which totally defeats the purpose. It's my favorite show so I just don't want to see it be changed into something that will altar the meanings.

Aside from the technical aspects and the score, I think the style of broad acting in Phantom perfectly suits High Schools.
I have several names, one is Julian2. I am also The Opps Girl. But cross me, and I become Bitch Dooku!

The thought of teen Christines trying to screech that high E is petrifying.
And the cardboard chandelier is both disturbing and hysterical!

I was thinking that a high school production of "Dirty Rotten Scoundrels" could be pretty good. I know of quite a few high school boys who already have the Freddy mania down pat!

Just like High Schools don't attempt Passion, A Little Night Music, Sunday In The Park With George, etc. Though I'm sure a school might have tried one of those shows - it's VERY rare.
True but there seems to be a lot of HS Follies though

I think that what a lot of people of this thread are forgetting is that there are many high schools that have talented students, talented staff, MONEY, and dedication. Many high school can put on decent productions because they put lots of time and hard work into their productions. They do not have to put on the stereotypical cheesy high school production, so they can tackle more difficult shows.

it would be hot if Spring Awakening was in a high school. I'd go.. I mean come on.. they could change the lyrics to "totally flunked" and then Melchoir in the scene where he has sex with wendla before act 2, he can pull down his pants...instead of seeing his butt, he could wear boxer shorts that say "GO PANTHERS!!!!" with a paw for school spirit. and Wendla can have a sportsbra.. Brooklyn however, can only be done on Long Island, Staten Island and NJ...because all the girl will have to do who plays brooklyn is sing that last note the way she normally talks.

I fear The Phantom of the Opera in high schools.
But I'm sure some schools will be able to do a good job.

How to properly use its/it's:
Its is the possessive. It's is the contraction for it is...

I've seen high schools attempt Night Music and Sunday in the Park... with success, but never Passion.
Shows I dread seeing done at high schools-
Wicked
Phantom of the Opera

A show not mentioned yet that a high school should never do: The Light in the Piazza.

Oh please, you think that censoring "Tits and ass" is bad? I went to a Catholic high school. We had to make the drunkard in "You Can't Take it With You" be constantly TIRED.
Jimmy, what are you doing here in the middle of the night? It's almost 9 PM!

I went to an uppity Christian school, and Sky Masterson and Sarah Brown had dinner at "Coney Island".

- Hahha. I went to a Catholic HS too. We kept her a drunk - with a bottle and all. But we had to change a few of the sex jokes/cusses throughout the script. But thankfully we kept the sex jokes from the "game" at the end of Act 2 untouched.

Hahaha... our principal was really afraid of upsetting parents, so our shows were very limited. We couldn't even do Grease.
Didn't help though that our director chose to do the same shows over and over and over. Not very good ones either, IMO.

High School Musical...oh wait, they can now(damn!)

Haha! Marat/Sade would indeed be hysterical. I think I want to direct that at some random high school one day.
