Posted: 10/12/13 at 3:00pmThere really is something endearing and special about this show. Some complain how WICKED should have won best musical in 2004, but I really think the Best Musical won that night. Part of the reason Avenue Q is a bit superior to WICKED, is because the characters are fleshed out more. You can really relate to the situation of Q and the Humor and Jokes in the show are really just top notch. It really is a gem to Musical Theatre.

Posted: 10/12/13 at 4:22pmNate/Broadway Guy only has original thoughts once every ten years, so that's about right.

Posted: 10/12/13 at 4:55pmThe fact that Idina Menzel looks like a puppet doesn't mean she is one. Rude.

Posted: 10/12/13 at 5:10pmYou have to admire Nate's genius in saying he likes Avenue Q so much "because the characters are fleshed out more" when the characters are in fact, pieces of fabric.

I bought the CD and listened to it once. I think I laughed three times. No, maybe it was two.
Haven't listened to it since. I saw some clips, as well, and putting all of that together, I have no interesting seeing the show.

Having worked at the theater where Ave. Q is, I must have seen it oh, about 30 times. Never got tired of it.
I believe it is running ten years now.

I worked on the Off-West End premier of Avenue Q, did the show about 50 times. I was still struggling to do my job by the end due to laughing so much. Wish we had it perpetually running in London like New York.
But I do agree that sloth pugs I enjoy the Avenue Q score more, not having Wicked win that is a little but mad.
