Lately I've been addicted to See What I Wanna See and Jerry Springer the opera.
Both are stunning. Get them immedietly if you don't have them!
I love The Wedding Singer cast recording. I've been playing that and Bright Lights, Big City a lot.

Lately I've been mesmerized by the Sweeney Revival Recording.
I just bought MARCH OF THE FALSETTOS (sp?), but it is fabulous! OMG! I listen to it all the time. The show is just so funny to listen to. I really reccommend this CD to everyone! :)
DIRTY ROTTEN SCOUNDRELS and PIAZZA are two I have recently gotten and adore. DRS especially
"Um, Wedding Singer is a CD I will NOT be buying"
Pinguin, that is very narrowminded, judge a CD after you bought it or listened to it. If you saw the show and you totally hated it, it'd be understandable though, but i doubt you have seen it.
The Sweeney Todd revival makes me shiver with joy/terror.
Also, I love the OBC of JCS.
I bought the wedding singer a couple of days ago and love it. I can't get the songs out of my head.
Out of the newer recordings, I really enjoy THE PAJAMA GAME. I adore SWEENEY TODD. THE COLOR PURPLE is okay, though I'm not a fan of the show. SUNDAY IN THE PARK WITH GEORGE was a major let down for me.
I will buy THE WEDDING SINGER because I buy everything - but I am more excited for DROWSY.
I totally agree.. The Wedding Singer's cast recording is amazing. I think i've listened to it 50 times now.
I will not buy DROWSY's cast recording, even though I buy everything.. Just didn't like any of the score.
I didn't like DROWSY's score either, but it really does grow on you.

I've been listening to Sweeney Todd lately. I just keep repeating it. What an amazing cast.
I agree with the people who said Last 5 Years. Such a wonderful cast recording with wonderful actors. Both Sherie Rene Scott and Norbert Leo Butz sing with great emotion.
I've fallen inlove with the Wedding Singer cast recording. I bought See What I Wanna See about a month or two ago and I really love that recording too.
OK, count me in on The Wedding Singer. I expected it to stink, but it is sooooo good. Hope to catch the show when it tours LA.
Sweeney. I bought it when it first came out and have been listening to it ever since.

Both versions of Assassins are just in constant rotation in my CD player, as is The Last Five Years. More recently I've bought and loved tick tick BOOM and the South Pacific Concert at Carnegie Hall.
And while I probably won't listen to the Drowsy recording all the way through much (I can't stand the orchestrations under Man in Chair's monologues!), I can promise you that I'll have listened to Bride's Lament at least fifty times before the Tony Awards.

Rentboy, it's nice to hear you liked the Passion OBC, not many people like the show so I always find it exciting when someone discovers its brilliance. The London Cast Recording is less than ideal to say the least, mainly because of the over-the-top, obnoxious portrayal of Fosca provided by leading lady Maria Friedman. Donna Murphy is as much of a definite Fosca as Ethel Merman is the definite Mamma Rose and Vivian Blaine is the definite Adelaide.
To get back on topic, I recently bought the concert recording of Anyone Can Whistle with Bernadette Peters, Scott Bakula, Angela Lansbury and Madeline Kahn. I loved this recording, Bernadette Peters' Fay is just captivating and she just shines in her numbers. "There's Always A Woman" with Madeline Kahn and Bernadette Peters is probably one of my favorite recordings of a Sondheim song.
I also bought the Original Broadway Cast Recording of Nine and I'm completely in love with it, especially because of Anita Morris' "A Call From the Vatican." I was more familiar with Jane Krakowski's version and I thought it didn't get any better than that, but listening to the original rendition I realize Ms.Krakowski had quite a hard job in her role because Morris gives a mind-blowing performance just based on the recording. I wonder why she didn't win the Tony over Liliane Montevecchi.
I've been listening to Anyone Can Whistle, which I love.

I was really impressed by the Drowsy CD. I loved the show on stage, but wondered how well it would translate into a listenable recording. (my only regret is no sound effects of flash bulbs popping during Show Off)
Also since I just finished reading Son of a Witch I find myself putting in Wicked more often.
Let's see... I just bought The Wedding Singer cast recording and LOVE IT. i can't wait till July 5th. when I go to see it. And technically I didn't buy this one, but some aynomous person sent me Drew Sarich's solo album "Say It" and it's been on repeat ever since. And I don't care what everyone says I am looking forward to the Lestat cast album in July.

The London production of Sunday in the Park with George and Mary Poppins...surprisingly I can't stop listening to MP, it's just so fun

Well, I recently got the new Pajama Game, which is fantastic! I adore it! The Sweeney revival cast recording is brilliant! And I second that about L5Y.
I am desperately awaiting Drowsy. No one in Miami has it, or knows when they are getting it. Thank goodness for two little websites, sh-k-boom and amazon.
the Canadian cast recording of Phantom is supurb (sp?).........
