Worst thing I've seen, but there are many, many threads of wildly diverse opinions available on this board.

Can you go away? How many threads must you start asking people's opinions when those threads already exist?

Terrible show. It didn't deserve any tony awards... Oh wait it wasn't nominated for any.

And if the show did receive a few Tony awards, got decent reviews and Harvey wasn't producing the show, you'd still be saying the same thing right? Yeah I doubt it. Learn to think for yourself instead of going with what is popular or cool to say.

I was skeptical and only went because of Anthony Warlow. I was pleasantly surprised to be entertained 90% of the time, including when he wasn't on stage. It wasn't something I would buy the cast recording to, but I'd go back if someone I adored was cast in it (and there were good discounts).

I enjoyed seeing it. I saw it a few times for a number of reasons and enjoyed it each time. It's not the best musical ever, its somewhat uneven. But the lead cast was good (and I too went back to see Anthony Warlow) and some of those boys are spectacular. I would have liked have seen Jeremy Jordan in the lead but I don't fault Matthew for not being him. That doesn't seem fair. I enjoyed what he did well enough.
And there are some parts of the show I looked forward to each time I saw it..and again, if someone new was in the show I wanted to see, I would probably go again. I personally look forward to the moment when James imagines the children are flying..love that part. Each time I went, the audience as a whole LOVED it.

I did see it in Cambridge with Jeremy. Based on what they did on the Tony's -- I liked him better than MM -- and I do like MM. The show was entertaining although nothing spectacular. The story was interesting for me because I didn't know the origin of how Peter Pan happened. It had its moments but the music was nothing special -- not a CD I would buy (or download). I really don't know how much it changed in NY. Has anyone here seen both versions?

Unless you've done further digging, I'm afraid that you still do not.

personally, I liked the show, didn't love it but throughly enjoyed it. The music is honestly the best part IMO. The lighting is cool too, the set is ok, was expecting more from Scott Pask. the acting is a little tired by now also. The book, I don't know its all over the place, some scenes are good and some are really boring. the special effects though are quite amazing.

Actually, along with the program, the A.R.T. gives you a magazine with in depth articles and interviews. I may very well have gotten the story from the magazine and thought I was seeing it on stage....

If you are watching FINDING NEVERLAND (either the movie or the musical) and you think you are getting the story of the creation of PETER PAN you are woefully misguided. FINDING NEVERLAND is a work of fiction. If you want to know how Peter Pan came into being and the details of Barrie's strange, and tragic relationship with the Llewelyn Davies family, and the almost supernatural events of that relationship (it really was that strange and eerie) I highly recommend the book JM BARRIE AND THE LOST BOYS by Andrew Birkin and the BBC mini-series of the same name that was also scripted by Birkin (after years of scrupulous research and being allowed to view the letters in the possession of Nico Llewelyn Davies).
It is an absolutely fascinating, strange and terribly sad history, so be prepared.
Hardcover is expensive (and only available used).
But the paperback version is much cheaper.
The BBC mini-series is also available on DVD with the remarkable Ian Holm as Barrie.

I just saw it last week and really liked it! Much better than I thought it would be.

I enjoyed it, but it was not my favorite by any stretch. I thought it had its moments that were quite good. Stronger, Circus of your Mind, and Play come to mind right now. I also thought the second act was very emotional and I enjoyed it much more than the first act.

This show is a totally overblown overproduced bore. I was never riveted or excited or anything, really. The score is boring,t he cast is bland (I liked Carolee and that's it), Not a good time at the theater.
