she looks really good! Picture on her Instagram , doing this through mobile so I'm not able to post the link. I just have one question, does she wear a wig in If/Then? It looks very similar to her regular hair but minutes the bangs and curls that she had when she came out of the stage door when I was there. I sort of feel as if being blonde doesn't really fit the character but who knows!

I just saw her two days ago and it was already streaked w/ major light highlights. Guess she just needed a change! I want to see it w/ better angles/light.
And yes she wears wigs in the show!
You couldn't really see the color on her Instagram too well either so I'm looking forward to seeing pictures.
Thank you!
Wait so does she wear a wig? Or is Liz/Beth now a blonde?
And this is earth shattering news why?
She wears wigs in the show. ^ It's mostly to conceal the microphone, I think.

This plus the thread about hairline/etc. mics, and the wig makes total sense.
Well, "always starting over," right? Menzel's been pretty clear how important this show has been to her personally, so it feels somewhat appropriate during its closing week. At the same time, I'm not sure blonde suits her, but whatever. Watching Twitter explode over this is pretty hilarious, though.
I do not like it.
It honestly looks much blonder in the photo she posted herself than it does in reality. Someone got some snaps of her walking into the theater and it is just a lot of highlights not all over blonde as that picture makes it seem
I bet the highlights looked nice... the full blonde is a bit jarring, but I don't think that's the best pic either. I'm dying to see more pics though.
I always say nothing like discussion re serious theater topics. Wink wink Nudge nudge
"I bet the highlights looked nice..."
They really did!
Roxy...leave the thread if this is too low brow for you. Good grief.
If this is considered serious theater discussion, we are all in trouble.
Great idea re leaving the thread as it is getting way too serious here.
It's a shame one of her characters in IF/THEN couldn't be blonde and one brunette. The show would be easier to follow then.
^^^^^^
Oh my gosh they should have done that.
I saw her yesterday and noticed some serious highlights and was about to ask if she had this up her sleeve. It looks good! I also want to see a better picture though.

Menzel stage doored tonight so you can find recent photos on Twitter. I think TFMH18 is right, and the blonde-ness may depend on lighting or angle or both.

What are you guys talking about? Blonde? highlights? I only see black and blue hair
She's turnd into Kate Winslet!

Wouldn't it be funny if she died her hair to show how she would look as Elsa on stage? Whenever Frozen does come to broadway I think it will already be a hit but I think it even so be a bigger hit with Menzel.

I think it was a two step process. I saw her walking into the theatre on Tuesday and her hair was just highlighted. Now it looks all over blonde. And yes, she wears a wig.
And world continued on its axis.
I don't believe a 45-year-old Elsa (even if Menzel passes for 40, or 39, as she currently is playing) will make the most persuasive case for the story on stage. But who knows? Maybe that could be part of the feminism in the tale, that this woman has been locked up like a pariah, her ascendancy to queen poignant. Of course, does Menzel want to sing That Song eight times a week? I'm guessing the blonde hair will be part of her summer concert persona, and if it conjures up Elsa, a smart homage to the film it might prove to be.

Maybe Annie Leibovitz is getting her and Kristen Bell together to pose as Elsa and Anna in a Disney Dream Portrait.
