Idina hurt in 2nd act of today's matinee/Shoshana finished show instead!

I can't believe it myself but I'm starting a Wicked thread.

I just got a call from my friend who told me that Idina fell over during today's matinee and Shoshana went on for her in the second act. I have no idea if she'll be on tonight or how badly she was hurt.

But isn't that a classic... just one day before her BIG day!

Please discuss.

Well, just received an update from someone who saw the show...

Apparently, Idina fell through the trap-door towards the side of the stage and was hurt.

I'm actually speechless about this... it sounds almost funny and I'm sure all the Wicked haters will have a good laugh about this!!!

I swear I'm not kidding about this... All the best to Idina, tomorrow is a big day for her, she can't miss it

I just heard too from a friend who has been waiting in the cancellation line. She said she saw Idina being wheeled into the ambulence on a stretch still green. I am worried about her. She has put so much into her last week she just needs a break. I really hope she is ok!!!

Shes been wheeled onto a stretcher?! Is it that serious? I really hope shes okay now.

I would hate for her to go out like this.

Wow, that sucks for her. Maybe it's a sign from the higher beings that now's the right time to leave the show. (It really doesn't get more obvious than that!) I hope she still performs tomorrow though.

I know me too. Yea, my friend said she was taken out the stage door on a stretch. I really hope it's not serious. And that it's just a precautionary thing!!!

I bet she feels just AWFUL. She tried SO hard to be in this week just for her fans. Poor thing, she truly is a performer.

here is what I found out. She fainted during For Good and cracked 2 ribs. She is ok though and Shoshana went on for the last 5 minutes and will most likely go on tonight. As for Idina being back for her last night I don't know

Well, I'm sure the stretcher etc is just a pre-caution. They need to make sure she's 100% ok due to insurance etc.
I'd be surprised if they didn't have the floor underneath the trap-door padded anyway. This is the United States after all, she could sue their asses off.

So here's the story who called from outside the Gershwin:

Idina fainted during For Good - for those of you who don't know Wicked that's the second to last song... the trap door was open and she fell through... Joey Mcintyre came out to sign and he said that they thought she may have cracked a rib. As soon as Idina fell, they cleared the theater and made everyone wait outside. Then, they took Idina away on a stretcher (she was smiling and her eyes were open, which is a good sign). After that, they let everyone back into the theater, and Shoshana Bean finished up that last scene with JLT and Joey.

Hope she's ok, with a cracked rib though I can't see how she could really perform tomorrow.

I speculate that she fainted because she was overcome with emotion about leaving tomorrow (seeing as it was during For Good- very emotional).. hopefully it was not healthrelated, with all the huffing and puffing shes been doing recently.

Not to be negetive because im a big idina fan myself..but i dont kno if they will be able to put her on the machine tomorrow that allows her to fly if she has cracked ribs, we'll see though..shes a trooper.. i wouldnt doubt it if she went out anyway

Thanks for the info. Is there a trap door open for For Good though?? (The one Fiyero comes out of later? Or I guess the one that Elphaba "withers away" into?) Did it just fly open? Careless, careless on the techies parts! Fainted though, eh...weird.

ok luvwicked just called me idina did go on for the seccond act she broke her rib from a trapped door malfunction they had a 30 minute pause shoshana went on for the last 15 minutes, idina came out for the curtain call then they took her to the hospital.......please dont start rumors casue its not very nice and this is the truth cause she saw it , everything else you heard was wrong idina did do the second act and until the last couple scenes they had a 30 minute pasue and shoshana went on

If she really cracked on of your ribs, I doubt they will even let her on, no matter what she says.
