With Clay Aiken in Spamalot, all of Broadway is singing a collective "There! Right! There!" -Me-
"Not Barker, Todd is the only person I've ever known who could imitate Katherine Hepburn...in print." -nmartin-

During the last election, before we knew that we'd be stuck with Bush for ANOTHER four years, the creative team already came up with a new lyric.
Oh, and I think Q will last a good many more years on Broadway.

"I have also met him in person, and I find him to be quite funny actually. Arrogant and often misinformed, but still funny."

Because the new president might be... good.
That's doubtful. I don't think we're ever going to get another good president, because the American political system is broken and there is no way of fixing it while still keeping the country functional.

I don't think it'll close anytime soon.
The grosses since 2003 have rarely gone over $550,000, and it has spent a big bulk of the time pulling in grosses in the $300,000s and $400,000s. It had one peak week in 2006 of approximately $665,000, and that is one of the highest it has ever reached. This was around the Christmas/New Year's Eve season weekend.
Avenue Q is cheaper to run than most other shows, so for its size, it is pulling in a decent amount.

TonyVincent, I hope you were being sarcastic about McCain being a good president. If not then all I can say is WOW.
Thought it was pretty obvious that I was being sarcastic facetious.
I guess if those jokes can almost fly over your head, it makes sense that you're a hardcore democrat.
;P <-- notice the winking silly face

It seems to be doing well enough on tour. I caught it in Boston and only happened to get last minute tickets. It was sold out just about every night it was there.

Posted: 3/26/08 at 1:05pmNever Mind. George Bush is declaring martial law in January and will remain in power for the good of the country. He is demanding they change it to "Everything else is just for now...George Bush is forever!"

"Ron Paul?"
That wouldn't be funny, because he'd actually be a good president.
How about "Mel Brooks"? That would work quite nicely.

I honestly doubt it will last til January.
It was a very good show with it's original cast but the times taht I have returned, it felt a little like a broken record and it was WAY less fun.
I think once September/October roll around, it'll be announcing its closing.
