If CURTAINS gets to replacements...

Not that I want the cast of CURTAINS to leave anytime soon. I think it would be a really FUN show for replacements.

I can't really think of anyone for Frank Cioffi. DHP is just so perfect for the role. Do you guys have any ideas?

For Carmen Bernstein. You may think I'm crazy. But I can really see Patti LuPone in the role. Though she probably would never replace. I think she'd be fantastic in the role. I can also really see Joanne Worley in the role.

For Georgia Hendricks - I can really see Janine LaManna. Like Ziemba - Janine is a triple threat who can REALLY sing. She's perfect for the role.

Ideas?

re: If CURTAINS got to replacements...

For Cioffi:
Neil Patrick Harris
Martin Short

For Carmen Bernstein:
Tyne Daly
Lea Delaria

For Georgia Hendricks (totally different direction, but...)
Bebe Neuwirth

Begin at the beginning and go on till you come to the end: then stop.

God, I can't imagine Lea DeLaria in a dress. It'd be bizarre. But other than that and Martin Short I like your choices!

re: If CURTAINS got to replacements...

David Hyde Pierce is in the show for at least a year (as this is how long his contract is for). i doubt the show will last much longer than that...

but i couldn't picture Martin Short in that role. that'd be wild...

Why don't we at TR Knight if we're just going to reccomend every star who came out this year.

Kidding... KIDDING!! I love the idea of NPH!
It's just a message board. Let's not take it too seriously.

I'm betting Short would never replace Hyde Pierce, and that goes double for Neuwirth replacing Ziemba.

Sally Struthers for Carmen.
Cheyenne Jackson tickled me. AFTER ordering SoMMS a drink but NOT tickling him, and hanging out with Girly in his dressing room (where he DIDN'T tickle her) but BEFORE we got married. To others. And then he tweeted Boobs. He also tweeted he's good friends with some chick on "The Voice" who just happens to be good friends with Tink's ex. And I'm still married. Oh, and this just in: "Pettiness, spite, malice ....Such ugly emotions... So sad." - After Eight, talking about MEEEEEEEE!!! I'm so honored! :-)

I LOVE the Neil Patrick Harris idea...
What a night! I was in more laps than a napkin!

re: If CURTAINS got to replacements...

For Frank Cioffi- Patrick Wilson
For Carmen Bernstein- Mary Testa
For Georgia Hendricks- Joanna Gleason
Tonya Pinkins: Then we had a "Lot's Wife" last June that was my personal favorite. I'm still trying to get them to let me sing it at some performance where we get to sing an excerpt that's gone.
Tony Kushner: You can sing it at my funeral.

Not that I'm too familar with Curtains, but from what I've seen, I'd love to see Mary Testa playing Carmen.

I am a firm believer in serendipity- all the random pieces coming together in one wonderful moment, when suddenly you see what their purpose was all along.

You'd be surprised at the dancing ability Gleason has. She's just never had the opportunity to use it on stage.

Besides the fact, any future replacement in the role of Georgia is likely going to have the character's material altered a bit to fit their strengths. There aren't many triple threats out there as strong as Ziemba (who had the role changed to adapt to her talents after she did the final workshop.)

I just got the CD today, but listening to it in the car on the way home, Neil Patrick Harris did come to mind for some reason when I heard David Hyde Pierce.

Totally different than DHP or NPH, but what about Brad Garrett? He sings, right? Would love the detective to be big bruiser of a Boston cop. Would make his love of theatre and dance numbers that much more fun and funny.

Loving the Neil Patrick Harris idea so much. Kudos to Smaxie.
I think Mary Testa would be just about as good as it gets for a Carmen replacement, the woman has everything that I would hope for in a replacement and her "It's a Business" would keep stopping the show every night.
I would like to see Sara Gettelfinger as Georgia (if she's not too young for the role) or Natascia Diaz.
