My theatre TPAC has this things called Arts Appetizers where before the Tuesday show, actors come preview the show some and talk to the patrons. The website said Jackie would be participating. I only assumed it meant she would be doing the tour. The part saying she is, is now down... But it's well known that Idina is doing the first six weeks.

I think Jorge's confusion comes from the fact y'all seem to be talking about two different concerts/people. Maxkko, I believe when you said "She is... for the first six cities" you were referring to Idina (and referencing her concert that was part of her world tour). Jorge was talking about Jackie at the separate Broadway in Chicago concert on Monday night that features some cast members from the upcoming show, at which Jackie performed "Always Starting Over" as the representative from If/Then.
Correct?
To note, I was not able to attend the concert, but didn't Jeff Kready perform for Gentleman's Guide in Kevin Massey's stead? It looked like him from the photos I saw. Adam Kaplan also performed for Newsies at last year's concert, so in short, no. That does not mean anything official.

In other news, English Bernhardt, who was recently in Next to Normal at the NC Theatre (with Ben Fankhauser, Lauren Kennedy, Charlie Pollock, and Mike Schwitter) is joining the tour. I'm assuming it's in the Paulette track.

Just booked my tix to see If/Then in Seattle with some friends. Thankfully I had a code for the presale...looking at the seating charts it looks like there aren't many seats left for the the 1 week run. So excited to see Idina and the gang again!

Wanted to bump this, as I've seen on Twitter that rehearsals for the tour have begun in NYC. It's interesting that they STILL have not announced a full cast/the replacements for when the Broadway leads depart. I wonder if they're still locking it down, or if there's another reason for the delayed announcement.

Nope. Performances start in 3 weeks and no cast announcement, no "meet the press" or "first look". Does this seem strange to anyone else?

Do they normally do those for a tour? I mean, Idina, Anthony, Lachanze and James are the only OBCs, and the only that can impact ticket sales. Is anyone holding out to learn the rest before buying tickets?
They are rehearsing at Signature Center, if you want to go look.

They have been recently. In fact, the one for Bullets Over Broadway just came out this week. I'm one of those people who like to track actors as their careers progress, especially ensemble members. If you don't look to see who is in the ensemble, you won't realize you saw Andy Karl in the ensemble for Disney's On the Record.

Finally aligned schedules with my friend so we were able to buy our tickets for SF! I was so bummed that I missed this show by just a couple months when I made my NYC trip last early last year, so it's such a treat that I'm still getting a chance to see this cast in the show. I definitely feel lucky!
Jenn's the only one who wasn't announced to be going on tour though, right? Do we know who's taking her role? Did I miss something, or has it not been mentioned yet?

There still hasn't been an official complete cast announcement, oddly. Jenn Colella is already booked for Come From Away.

Along with the rest of the ensemble and principals joining the Broadway cast, I am beyond curious to know who is taking over for the leads when they depart after their few cities. The fact that they haven't announced an Elizabeth replacement is very odd. That much is certain. Why is it such top secret information at this point?

I'd love to know why as well. Maybe it's not so much a (non)marketing move or keeping secrets as it is continuing contract negotiation and still looking for the "right" replacement people? Jackie Burns gave a noncommittal but rather cheeky response about taking over the tour at some point ("you never know". I've seen a suggestion that the producers may try to keep Menzel longer, but given family and projects in California, I just don't think that's possible; it's already unprecedented that most of the OBC is launching this tour. But I can see that argument bearing weight given what David Stone has said about Menzel being absolutely key for having a tour at all.

I wouldn't be shocked to hear Deedee and Cliffton be replacements for LaChanze and James.
