Daniel Evans. Hands down the best male performance of the season. Riveting, stunning, a masterpiece. Plus he's absolutely adorable and my future husband. Heh heh.
Otherwise, I echo the GYPSY! trio. What performances! The three of them, together, truly make this production. Patti also says that having Boyd and Laura make it easier for her. I honestly wonder how her performance would change if Boyd and Laura suddenly disappeared for a month...
Also, I think Meridez is as good as Benanti in their respective shows. Just throwing that out there..
Personally, I would love to see Christopher Fitzgerald win Best Featured Actor.
I would say Kelli O'Hara for Best Leading Actress, but she probably WILL win as opposed to Fitzgerald.
Agree, Wicked, in regards to Meridez! Want to also throw Conleth Hill into my mix-
Loved his performance !

I agree! Olga Merediz is terrific and I would give her the award over Benanti in a heartbeat!
I would definitely give it to Andrea Martin for best featured actress. She is hilarious in Young Frankenstein.I think she definitely deserves the tony in my opinion.
I also want to mention Rob Ashford for CRY-BABY's choreography. The best thing about the show. It shouldn't win the Tony over IN THE HEIGHTS but it's still fantastic.

Bartlett Sher, not only for his brilliant direction of South Pacific, which probably will win him a Tony, but also for his work on Light In The Piazza and Awake and Sing!, which he should have won for, too.

IN THE HEIGHTS for Best Orchestrations and Robin DeJesus for Best Featured Actor in a Musical come to mind...
But if I could choose only one, it would be GYPSY for Best Revival of a Musical.

Boyd Gaines for Best Featured Actor in a Musical for GYPSY. Yes it would win him a fourth Tony but when you continue to do magnificent work, you should be rewarded. The man is a great actor and he is without question the best Herbie I've ever seen. He plays it with such warmth and tenderness, so when Rose pushes him over the edge and he finally blows up and leaves her, it's all the more shattering.
Laura Benanti for Best Featured Actress
Patti comes in a close second
The more I think of it, the more come to mind. Best Actor in a Musical to Tom Wopat would be AMAZING but it ain't gonna happen.

absolutely Xanadu for Best Musical.
I echo Yankeefan, but also Daniel Breaker really deserves it.
Andy Blankenbuehler for his thrilling choreography in IN THE HEIGHTS.
Best Actor -- Mark Rylance from Boeing, Boeing. I saw him do the role brilliantly last year in London as a Brit, and now he plays it as an American -- even better. His comic timing and expression are absolutely flawless. I happily sat in the front row for this show. He and Christine Baranski were the only two in the cast who never once broke concentration.

If I had my way both Patti and Jenna would get lead actress. Love them both. Also how excited would Jenna be to win the same award as Patti LuPone?? Too cute! :)
If I felt like pushing it though I'd have Xanadu win best new musical too.
