"It's Hot Up Here" from Sunday in the Park With George. I like the song but I always found it irritating that the first act opens with that song as opposed to "Putting It Together". Why does the painting need another song that is completely irrelevent to the rest of the second act? Especially when "Sunday" is the perfect first act finale.
FYI, "My Strongest Suit" from Aida is necessary to the rest of the show because it displays Amneris' personality and character perfectly.

A little swash, a bit of buckle - you'll love it more than bread.

The underwear song in Q.
It is soooooooooooooooooooo annoying.
It is short and really not needed in that scene. It is the only song that I can't stand.
I wish they had some of the other songs that were cut instead.
(Loves the Jury Duty Song Tear it up and throw it away)

Siamese, you beat me to it. There's no reason at all for that song to be there. It's redundent and Florence already has more than enough to sing. I personally dislike it, too.
Putting It Together is clever, but overdone. I felt like it was starting to drag and halfway through I thought, "I get the point. Next!"
One Brick At A Time is pretty unnecessary in Barnum. Then again, most of that show is nonsensical....

I agree about "Putting It Together".... it's very clever and important to the show, but it's so long and gets repetitive.

Little Lamb from Gypsy, Something Bad, A Sentimental Man, and Wonderful from Wicked, because all those songs are just so boring.

Jailhouse Rock from All Shook Up. It was a fun song and all and a huge elvis hit, but it was really really really random. The mayor of the town just goes. "That Roustabout is going to end up in Jail." And all of a sudden everyone breaks out into Jailhouse Rock.

^^^ agree with the "Jailhouse Rock" comment. it was soo cheesy, and yeah, it didnt ruin the show for me, but made it seem more corny then it really was :) but i had to love ASU anyway!

Half of Wicked's score should've been thrown out. The bad outweighs the good (Defying Gravity, No One Mourns The Wicked, etc)
Sentimental Man is only mildly entertaining live, because I like how it leads into Elphie's escape. But on CD it's a total bore.
LITTLE LAMB is important - I think. And like someone said, Momma and Louise are the most important characters in the show. LITTLE LAMB gives Louise a solo song to shine with in Act 1. It is a beautiful song if you really listen to it. Natalie Wood's version is great, and bitter sweet at the same time - because she did all the GYPSY vocals herself, no dubbing. There's not much of Natalie singing out there. And sadly her WSS outtakes aren't released.
I'm not overly fond of A LITLTE BIT OF GOOD from Chicago. But it gives Billy a nice break. And gives a counter-tenor an amazing chance to shine as Mary Sunshine.

-Something Bad-Wicked
-Castle on a Cloud-it kind of freaks me out *Edit: I realize this song is necessary but its just one of those songs I skip when I put on the cd*
-Some of the chorus parts of J&H, I just get to the point where I'm like, "Yes its a facade, we got it."

Okay it's quite obvious, reading some of these suggestions, that some of the people making them either never saw those shows or don't understand what those shows are all about. I agree with a few but some of the suggestions are just so off-the-wall they're laughable.
