Absolutely no possible competition.
The greatest show.
MFL - OBC - Hellinger Theater

if i were to die 2 and a half hours from now, i would want to spend it on stage in a musical of my choice (yet to be determined) in the part of my choice. That way, i could die on a natural high, knowing that i had fulfilled a dream.
btw, does anyone think this is a depressing post? lol.

My Fair Lady with Andrews/Harrison
re: If you had two and a half hours to live...#62
Posted: 10/5/04 at 6:24pmI didn't focus on the 2 1/2 hours left to live. If I were dying in 2 1/2 hours, I'd have to pick Burke Moses in The Frogs. (With that little bit of time left, I can get REAL shallow!)
A click for life.

Can I change my mind? LOL
After watching BROADWAY GOLDEN AGE I change my decision to:
1) Damn Yankees (opening night)
OR
2) Streetcar Named Desire (opening Night)

its sad that with only two and a half hours to live, most of these shows are 2hrs and 45mins.
id pick a one-act show and have time to... um...kill.

Hi Scarywarhol,
Trivial Pursuit: MOST theater historians agree that THE FIRST BROADWAY MUSICAL was THE BLACK CROOK--a HUGE hit. (1866!)
Trivial Pursuit 2: A musical was made about the creation of THE BLACK CROOK. (THE GIRL IN PINK TIGHTS, 1954. It bombed.) :)

For me, the perfect choice is CAROUSEL with OBC.
It was Rodgers & Hammerstein's MASTErPIECE.
John Raitt and Jan Clayton TOGETHER!
A score with hit PILED upon hit ("If I Loved You," "You'll Never Walk Alone", etc.)
Plus, that haunting CAROUSEL WALTZ overture and Bill's "Soliquoy" number!
MARVELOUS Agnes DeMille choreography (as always, with a subtle feminist slant.)
Why the 1994 revival cast a non-singer as Bill [one of the MOST DEMANDING MALE VOCAL ROLES IN AMERICAN MUSICAL THEATER) is totally beyond me.
But anyway, I'd would hop into my time machine and jump back to 1945 and catch CAROUSEL!

Posted: 10/7/04 at 11:50amI saw the OBC of RENT but I would have loved to meet Jonathan Larsen in the workshop stages! And I need to see Wicked but I would have loved to see it with Kristen! I am seeing it with Idina in November.
