"Whenever I get gloomy with the state of the world, I think about the arrivals gate at Heathrow Airport. General opinion's starting to make out that we live in a world of hatred and greed, but I don't see that. It seems to me that love is everywhere. Often it's not particularly dignified or newsworthy, but it's always there - fathers and sons, mothers and daughters, husbands and wives, boyfriends, girlfriends, old friends. When the planes hit the Twin Towers, as far as I know none of the phone calls from the people on board were messages of hate or revenge - they were all messages of love. If you look for it, I've got a sneaky feeling you'll find that love actually is all around."
Meredith-Carey Anderson Cristina-No idea. George-Tom Deckman Alex-Andy Kelso Izzie-Sutton Foster??? Callie-Sara Ramirez-Who would be dumb enough to replace her? Derek-Cheyenne Jackson Mark-No idea. Bailey-Chandra Wilson-Because she can sing, from what I've heard. Chief-No idea. Addison-Michelle DeJean
I'll admit, these are probably really bad choices. Well, minus Sara Ramirez and Chandra Wilson. If anyone can think of anyone good for roles I missed, let me know.

How funny I was watching a rerun of Will and Grace last night and thinking that instead of a follow up movie, a la Sex and the City, it would be fun if they did a musical staring the original cast. Those actors are all so perfect in their respective roles, and they’ve all performed on Broadway, I see no need to recast it with any other actors.
Mad props for Wonderfalls...love that show. also to the person who said Weeds, I could not figure out who to cast and some of your choices are fantastic. :)
Queer as Folk: Michael: John Tartaglia or Michael Arden Emmett: Tyler Maynard Ted: Peter Mattew Smith Justin: Brian Sears Brian: Cheyenne Jackson Lindsay: Arija Bareikis Melanie: Jenn Colella Debbie: Mary Testa
Buffy - Celia Keenan Bolger or I was thinking Lea Michele Xander - Johnathon Groff Willow - Kerry Butler Angel - I would love Gale Harold or David Harbour but I don't know if either sing. I suppose Cheyenne Jackson could work Giles - Anthony Stewart Head or David Hyde Pierce if he can't do it Spike - Adam Pascal or maybe Neil Patrick Harris Anya - Mary Catherine Garrison or Laura Bell Bundy Oz - Christoper Fitzgerald
Benson: Carolee Carmello Stabler: Brian d'Arcy James Captain: Tom Wopat Munch: Stephen DeRosa Tutola: Robin de Jesus Cabot: Celia Keenan Bolger Dr. Huang: No one but B.D. Wong. He already has Broadway experience, anyway. Dr. Warner: Anika Noni Rose
Wow, that was pretty difficult...

To answer a question from way back, besides Happy Days, there was a Gilligan's Island musical that played in Chicago and a few other places in the early 1990's.
There is a Rocky & Bullwinkle musical that also incorporates Dudley Doright, Mr. Peabody, Aesop & Son- all the elements of the TV show.
I recently heard someone is mounting "A Very Brady Musical". Updated On: 6/6/08 at 08:08 PM
Right now, my favourite show is Torchwood, and since all of the actors have some sort of theatre/musical background, it'd stay mostly the same: Jack: John Barrowman Gwen: Ruthie Henshall (Love Eve, but dunno if she can sing) Owen: Burn Gorman Toshiko: Naoko Mori Ianto: Gareth David-Lloyd Rhys: Kai Owens Captain John: James Marsters
Just need to find people to play Weevils.

my favorite show is army wives... i think it would make a terrible musical haha.

The choosing was not...

Felicity: Phoebe Strole Noel: John Gallagher Jr. or Van Hughes Ben: Aaron Tveit Elena: Rebecca Naomi Jones or Jaime Lee Kirchner Sean: Brad Bass or Josh Gad Meghan: Morgan Weed Julie: Jenni Barber Javier: Eliseo Roman
Veronica Mars -- Kristen Bell, of course Logan Echolls -- John Gallagher, Jr. Duncan Kane -- Jonathan B. Wright Wallace Fennell -- Derrick Baskin Eli "Weevil" Navarro -- Lin-Manuel Miranda Keith Mars -- Richard Kind Lilly Kane -- Amanda Seyfried, again of course
I'm not quite happy with all of these, but I'm more than open to suggestions

Yay for Veronica Mars. Clearly Kristen IS Veronica but if she could not return for a musical, I think Mary Faber could be fantastic. It's so hard to strike a balance age wise as there are people that are perfect for roles but would be kind of off with the rest of the hypothetical cast. Here is what I came up with:
Veronica: Kristen Bell or Mary Faber Wallace: Steven Cutts Logan: Bryce Ryness Weevil: Michael Balderrama Keith: Norbert Leo Butz Dick: Curtis Holbrook or Andrew C. Call Duncan: James Snyder or Aaron Tveit Don Lamb: Troy Britton Johnson Mac: Emma Hunton Cassidy: Tobias Segal or Blake Bashoff Lily: Kate Loprest Meg: Patti Murin Vinnie: Danny Burstein
I really don't watch TV. I like films and live theatre. I have a HDTV but that's for film (Blu-ray) but not for watching TV.
However, the 1965 film Kwaidan is similar to a TV series in that there are 4 unrelated stories. Something like a Japanese traditional Twilight Zone in color. The most theatrical of the group of 4 is IMO "Hoichi, The Earless" and that is already something of a musical. There is really not that much else to add there, as it already has elements of Kabuki and Noh classic Japanese musical drama. I actually think Broadway could pull it off artistically, but who knows about it commercially. If you're interested, Kwaidan is available on DVD from The Criterion Collection.
Reba: The Musical Reba: Victoria Clark Cheyenne: Laura Bell Bundy Barbra Jean: Kristen Cheno Brock: i don't know Van: Andy Karl Kyra: Sierra Bogess (with her Little Mermaid wig)
Except I think reba should play herself... after all she can sing.
And Cheno would have to wear a fat suit... wouldn't that be a sight to see.
