Aw, I love Gilmore Girls and really love some of your suggestions especially Andy Karl and Ann Harada but honestly you think that Laura Benanti or Sutton are old enough to be Leslie Kritzer's mother? Or that Meghan Mullaly and Roger Bart are old enough to be their grandparents? That's a bit off.
This is a hard cast, but I think:

well, I guess Heather Headley could make a return to Broadway as Tyra. and Elaine Paige could play Twiggy. and...I'm not sure who else.
When I see the phrase "the ____ estate", I imagine a vast mansion in the country full of monocled men and high-collared women receiving letters about productions across the country and doing spit-takes at whatever they contain.
