If then...is the most recent and (just thought of this one) A Time to Kill.
In general, there are a lot of shows that the critics don't like that I do..I keep thinking that maybe I am not so fussy.

After Eight, did you see House of Flowers?
And yes, Dear World is a wonderful show. Nothing like a Jerry Herman score.

I would have loved to have seen Tonya Pinkins in that role - she is one of my favorite performers. Especially with that full orchestra, Did they use the original Broadway score or the Off-Broadway version?

I can't remember. But it didn't come across as well as what we hear on the OBCR.

Posted: 7/5/14 at 7:17amIt would be hard to - it is a rather perfect recording with an extraordinary cast. Thank you for the information though - you are always so polite.

If/Then, I loved it and seeing it again!
but in reverse I hated Peter and the Star catcher and critics loved it.

Best example I can think of is Young Frankenstein. I really enjoyed that show. Had a great time seeing it with a school group I chaperoned.
Next closest is American Idiot. The NY critics were not nearly as positive as the LA critics but that was easily my favorite show that season .

I'll second the motion for Chaplin. I also thought Bullets Over Broadway was a hoot and a half.

I second Wicked and Shrek.
I saw the tour of The Addams Family and enjoyed it fairly well, but I know the tour was revised from Broadway and was better received.

I saw "Women on the Verge…" before the critics (and with Iflit!) and it was the first preview they got all the way through with no technical problems. I enjoyed the hell out of this flawed production. I think Iflit was more on the fence. It was the chatter of a few attention seekers on this board that mystified me. It was their mission in life to declare it the worst show in the history of history, the most terrible thing that had ever existed. It made me think what a sheltered life they must have lived if that little show was the worst thing they'd ever seen in their lives.
