Brooks allegedly seduced the women through Craigslist web postings and lured them to his upper East Side apartment with with promises of parts in his next movie, sources said.

Some free advice to all you aspiring actors out there -- if the guy making a promise like that had his last movie produced in 1978, he probably won't be able to follow through with said promise.

Sodomy is a sexual act that isn't intercourse. Rape is the legal term for forced intercourse, but would not apply to any other forced sexual act. So while sodomy by itself is legal, it isn't when it's forced (or when one party isn't deemed legally able to consent).

We are not very progressive folk here in the Commonwealth of VA. There are many archaic things still on the books here that would have me jailed for life. Scary.

The 2003 Lawrence v Texas case led to the invalidation of all state sodomy laws on the federal level by the US Supreme Court. However, a few states still try to enforce it. Seems to me, it could easily be appealed and overturned. Regardless, it sounds like this happened in New York and I don't understand the relevance of mentioning a "sodomy case" other than to be inflammatory. Matt, that's really not accurate at all.

The Supreme Court said it was unconstitutional to apply sodomy laws to consensual, private same-sex behavior.

Because rape is defined narrowly under the criminal laws of many states, sodomy statutes remain in place -- and necessary -- to prosecute certain forcible sex acts. This problem generally goes away when states revise their penal codes, but if the laws are old, some forced sex is rape and some forced sex is sodomy.

Sodomy without consent is still a crime.

Dollypop... it was produced in Chicago (I think?) a few years ago.... I was shocked, too. I will say this for IN MY LIFE, it was never boring. I actually liked parts of the score, but a majority of the structure, story, and well, the whole thing just made you scratch your head and say "What the hell is this!?"

Once when I was visiting relatives in Virginia my cousin and I were walking around their neighborhood and found a trailer home with a confederate flag waving. It didn't really phase me because I'm from Texas, but my adopted black cousin flicked their trailer off, thought clearly no one was home.
