In The Heights Revival?

I'm curious if Lin and Quiaria will do some rewrites on the stage show. Having seen the film, it is MUCH stronger than the stage show. Some authors like tinkering with their early-career work, others do not...if they don't make the changes themselves, I fear high school productions across the country will try to restructure it illegally, like with West Side Story.

Also curious if any producer already holds the rights to the stage show, or if the rights are with the authors... Jeffrey Seller & Kevin McCollum originally produced it onstage but have since divorced professionally; Seller has lamented that the "rap musical" stigma surrounding the original production cost it a longer run. The film is produced by Scott Sanders (who's also a theatre producer), and Warner Bros could also be a factor.

And lastly, it's a question of whether Tommy Kail and the original creative team come back to it, or if it gets a ground-up revival with a new director.

Yeah it's a very soap opera type story that, to me, didn't feel very grounded. I'm curious to see the movie. I'd love to see a new take on the material and not the same creatives. But I could see how the "from Hamilton" could be a good selling point. I might be the only who doesn't find Kail's work all that great. He just happens to be working with good material.
