Hi Marc,
Now that Sue cella has left the tour is there any chance she will join the broadway company?
the cast members are so nice!
I went to a dance class yesterday, and Chandra Lee Schwartz (penny) and Leonard E Sullivan (Thad) taught it! They were so nice! I love the Hairspray tour!

Mr. Shaiman I applaud your comments!! I finally saw HAIRSPRAY on July 3, and I have to say it has no signs of LONGRUn-ITIS.
The performance I attended was Mary Bonds last show, and you were there, etc. I was totally floored by this production, and intend on seeing it again. As an actor I would feel privledged to work on a production were such care has been taken. I was a little disappointed that I would not be seeing Richard Blake as Link, and that I would see his understudy, But let me say that Andrew Rannells was absolutely brilliant. I hope to go back and see Richard, but as far as Im concerned if the Understudies are brilliant then great care is put into this show.
I can understand the disappointment of having memories of a Broadway production, and seeing things cut on the road, but that should have no impact on this brilliant production or fabulous cast.
I suspect that the posting was created by someone who just has an axe to grind, and is very bitter or knows someone who is very bitter about his own career.
For Shame.

Michael, have you submitted a headshot? I didn't kiss Marc's, excuse me, Mr. Shaiman's, ass anywhere near as deeply as you just did and he up and HANDED me a part in the Vegas production of Hairspray without so much as an audition!
I'm the luckiest little girl in the world!!!!
Marc is still my hero

Mine too. And not just because he's my boss. Turns out he only gives jobs to people who AREN'T subtly and not so subtly hitting him up for them. Just those of us who mind our own beeswax and all of a sudden he says, "Hey, I've never met you or seen a picture of you, but I WANT you for our show!"
And from there it's nothing but showbiz magic.
that must be how dance of the vampires was cast!
Ditto, Zepka :)
Any word on Shannon's performance? I've been itching for reviews.
I think I'll be seeing her, but I'm waiting for 2 reasons. 1. is lottery may be changing in september, and 2. is because Bruce is leaving in september. I love him, but I've seen him 3 times already.

LOL. No I have not submitted my headshot. You think I should? I didnt want to come across like I was kissing ***, but infuriates me when I hear that bitter people take out their frustrations on a work. If cuts are necessary to the production to make it last longer Im all for it. It sound more like the person has more of a beef with individuals or their union. With so much unemployment with actors; be thankful you have work, and don't knock the production that feeds you.
Now Im ready for my audition.
Marc honey,
You never answered my Sue Cella question.

Thanks Marc for posting against someone who claimed they knew so much about the show... it was refreshing to read explanations about the show, and you also taking the time to make sure that everyone found out that namelesschorusboy was full of himself. I think the show Hairspray is terrific... I just reccommended my uncle to see the current cast on Broadway, and he loved it. I personally am partial to the original Link Larkin
, but thank you for all the different themes and morales learned in this show.
