You forgot the first show of the season: SPIDER-MAN TURN OFF THE DARK. Is My 2011-2012 Season List Complete So Far?
"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

I know there's no official start date yet, but they were looking at spring of 2012 for Evita, right?
When I see the phrase "the ____ estate", I imagine a vast mansion in the country full of monocled men and high-collared women receiving letters about productions across the country and doing spit-takes at whatever they contain. -Kad

Also look for ROBIN AND THE SEVEN HOODS, Casey is trying to get it on the fast track for the Fall.

Which will be a new Musical.

So, is there one particular show that is starting to garner all the buzz for opening next season?

Does anyone think the lack of musicals will help this season's musicals stay open longer?

It always seems to be feast or famine where musicals are concerned.

Last season was bountiful, the season before was barren.

There's not one show this season I'm excited about.

....but the world goes 'round

"So, is there one particular show that is starting to garner all the buzz for opening next season?"

iabwayfan, the most buzzed about shows I can think of are Venus in Fur and Follies. Follies because it's Follies; Venus in Fur because people have fallen in love with Nina Arianda and/or really liked the Off-Broadway run.

Well, and Spider-Man, too, but for the wrong reasons.

Bill T. Jones is currently doing a development workshop for Super Fly the Musical, but don't know if they are trying to fast track it to Broadway this season or what the plans are.

A lot of what's been mentioned in this thread is no more than wishful thinking at this stage. You might as well add Yank, [title of show 2], My Mother's Behind, the Musical, and What Have You Done To Yourself?, the Jocelyn Lowenstein Musical while you're at it.

Hardly any new musicals if your list is accurate. I think that's a sad state of affairs.

I feel like that always happens in the fall. Most new musicals wait until the spring to open, so they aren't announced until later in the season. Wait until January, then start moaning about the lack of new musicals.
