Posted: 9/23/13 at 5:14pmYes, it appears to be true. Someone on All That Chat said they received an e-mail from the Actors' Home (where Connell has lived for some time) confirming her passing.

Aw.... RIP.
I saw her as Miss Hannigan in Annie, opposite Reid Shelton, in the national tour of Annie. She was wonderful.
A delightful Agnes Gooch, too.

This is very sad. Time to put on "The Tea Party" and listen to her try to keep Dickie in line!!
At least we will be able to enjoy her performances on record forever.
RIP

Posted: 9/23/13 at 8:05pmOh, dear. I worked with her briefly on Lansbury's last MAME tour and Connell was not only fall-out-of-your-seat funny on stage, she was the sweetest and loveliest lady off-stage! What a gem!

In Mame, her classic line, "I opened a new window".....was memorable.
I can still hear the roaring laughter of the audience when she tried to sit in a low beanbag type chair looking about 100 months pregnant.
Jane Connell..you were one of a kind. I really loved her.

I had no idea she had played Miss Hannigan in Annie on tour. Didn't realize that Reid Shelton had toured with the show either.
I saw her in Me and My Girl and Crazy for You.

I was lucky to see her as Miss Hannigan opposite Keene Curtis as Warbucks and Swen "I've Got Your Number" Swenson as Rooster in ANNIE at The Curran Theatre in San Francisco. Jane brought down the house with her rendition of "Little Girls".
Love seeing her pop up on reruns of Bewitched, also.
A total pro.
May she rest in peace.

I had the pleasure of seeing her many times. I think the last time was in MOON OVER BUFFALO. She was marvelous--as always.
May she rest in peace.
