I had to pause the TV until I stopped laughing.

She and Andrea McArdle are the only aspects of the original cast I even remember. The night I saw it, something went wrong with the bridge and they brought the lights up in the theatre and evacuated the cast members one at a time. It made for a long evening, and I saw ALW and his Sarah fleeing before anyone could stop them. It must've been a late preview.
Sorry for the thread-jack.
Yes, I love Jane Krakowski.

There was also a shout-out from Tina Fey to Chicago-based actors (which she once was) - in the flash back of her auditioning for a commercial, she said she was represented by "B-Plus Talent". In the 1970's and 80's, one of the biggest talent agencies in Chicago was "A-Plus Talent".

This episode was in my opinion the best of the season so far. The Susan Boyle joke nearly had me on the floor.
"Your lyrics lack subtlety! You can't just have your characters announce how they feel! That makes me feel angry!"

"Starlight Express" was the first Broadway musical that I saw. And, I remember how stunningly beautiful Jane K was.

Probably one of my favorite episodes, it was hilarious, and Jane was really funny. Loved the STARLIGHT joke, as I tend to love all the Broadway jokes they give her (I adore the EVITA poster hanging on the wall in her dressing room). I can't wait to see her next week with Cheyenne Jackson.
"Some people can thrive and bloom living life in a living room, that's perfect for some people of one hundred and five. But I at least gotta try, when I think of all the sights that I gotta see, all the places I gotta play, all the things that I gotta be at"

to make the joke even more "insider", notice the little boy looks like an urchin? that's because the recorded voice of the Boy in STARLIGHT EXPRESS was also playing Gavroche in LES MIZ at the same time.
STARLIGHT was my first ACTUAL Bway show, with LES MIZ being the very next night. And, I totally remember Jane in the role.

JBSinger, what was Jane's role? I'm not familiar with STARLIGHT at all (Save for the ridiculous costume and roller skates) so I didn't realize she had much of a role.

Dinah The Dining Car is one of the leading female roles in the show. She was wonderful!

She played Dinah, the Dining Car. The costume she wore on 30 Rock was eerily similar to the one she wore in the actual show.

I passed out from laughing at last night's episode.

The Susan Boyle joke was HI-LAR-IOUS.
It really was a great episode last night.

The running joke about Dot Com as Trigorin in THE SEAGULL, PARTICULARLY Tracy's first joke about that and then his private revelation about it later with Jenna, was high-larious.
OH! And the tragedy/comedy mask thing was so so funny as well!
SO glad it has found its footing this season, though last week's was pretty good too!

haha, also apparently Dotcom (one of Tracy Jordan's entourage) made a very convincing Trigorin at the Wesleyan Art Space. Which Tracy referred to as "playing a bird in some silly school play!"

"I'm not Gay, I'm Bi-LARIOUS!!!" So bad. I loved it.
And the Susan Boyle joke was by far the best.

I also had to pause my dvr to conrol myself after the Starlight Express reference and Kathy Geiss pulling a Susan Boyle was equally amazing.

Oh, I loved this episode, too. "he's evil Tracey?! Oh, he's evil comma Tracey," And is it just me, or does the robot guy they hired not look a thing like Cheyenne Jackson?

That would be because it's not Cheyenne Jackson.

Just watched the episode on Hulu, one of the best by far.
Brian Williams was too funny, as was the Susan Boyle-like woman.

Blaxx, really the worst Webber song ever. Dig deeper there are far worst. But back on track ( no pun meant ) I loved me some Starlight!
Well I didn't want to get into it, but he's a Satanist.
Every full moon he sacrifices 4 puppies to the Dark Lord and smears their blood on his paino.
This should help you understand the score for Wicked a little bit more.
