She just told Sam Rubin that she is in talks for a broadway musical and will have something official very soon.. Anyone?
Love her! She's excellent on stage, too.

Dame, if you're lying I'll hunt you down like a dog.
I can't breathe. Someone help me, I'm too excited.

Jordan I will try to find a link. It was on KTLA. She did not say what.. The title of the thread here has a question mark. Now watch it be Elaine Strich.
"Jeeeeeeeean Smart! Why are you following me?"
THIS would make me want to see Annie.
Just seeing this clip again makes me know she could do it.
The Brady Bunch Movie
I swear to Sondheim my roommate and I were watching that last week and saying what a great Hannigan she would be.
Love me some Jean Smart.
Please, God! Let it be true! It would certainly be the most inspired casting choice I've seen in a while. I was always a big Designing Women fan and Jean Smart never gets enough love.

That would be a wonderful performance. Fingers crossed that it happens.
I would see the revival for Jean Smart. Partly because I'd ask her to sign my Oblongs DVD at the stage door. Love her.
She was fantastic in Promises at Reprise.
It should also be "Starring Annie as ANNIE!"
Can they add a scene to the show where she stabs an orphan in the neck with a pair of scissors like she did on 24.
This would be so awesome! Smart gave such a brilliant performance as Martha Logan on 24 and was robbed of an Emmy.
This would actually make me sit through Annie again. Great casting if comes to fruition.
Her portrayal of Martha Logan was where I fell in love with her and then again with the terribly short lived Samantha Who.

She was also fabulous in THE MAN WHO CAME TO DINNER.
She'd be wonderful, but will she sell tickets?
Maybe her name alone wouldn't sell a ton of tickets, but if her performance was strong and the show got solid reviews, that would likely help it at the box office.
Believe me, I love me some Jean, but if they want to sell a lot of tickets and charge those premium prices, she is not the ticket.
I agree, Betty. Especially not at the barn that is the Palace.
Maybe they have a name lined up for Daddy Warbucks or Grace?
