Jennifer Aniston wants to do musicals

According to the NY POST:

Jennifer Aniston has given up smoking, because she wants to preserve her voice to sing in a musical.

The former Friends star has been inspired by fellow actresses Reese Witherspoon and Nicole Kidman, who surprised film fans with their vocal ability in Walk the Line and Moulin Rouge, respectively.

She says, "I have quit the cigs so that I can get my voice in shape."

What would you cast her in? I'm at a total loss.

After seeing Three Days of Rain, I thought that Jennifer might have been good in that.

If they every made a remake of the SWEET CHARITY movie, something tells me she'd be a winning Charity Hope Valentine.

She just exudes that innocence and vulnerability the role calls for.

I love Jennifer. I don't know if I could picture her in musicals, but I think she'd be great in straight plays. She has some sort of theatre/performing arts background...

Some guy: You looked great!
Idina: Thanks...I WAS SO HIGH! 8/21/05

Actually -- this might sound silly, but she could inject some life into the sagging Beauty and the Beast. The songs aren't that difficult, and it would finally be an age-appropriate relationship between the two leads. And I would finally see the show for the first time ever.

That's all I can come up with if we're talking within the limitations of existing/upcoming shows.

Let her play Catherine in the film version of "Pippin" if it ever happens.
There's always room for pathos - and jazz hands.

"Her name was Lola...she was a showgirl..."

Anyone see that episode of Friends?

Yes, millie. I don't remember which season finale that happened on. We know she can tap dance, too (which she did in one episode).

re: Jennifer Aniston wants to do musicals

I think, with the exception of the Chicago post, we are being unrealistic. Aniston is approaching 40.

"I didn't even know she smoked."

Her lips have more vertical lines over them than even Laura "Pickles" Bush, and that's really saying something.

David Schwimmer was the only Friend who did not smoke.

bwaysinger, not sure what that last comment meant, but Matthew Perry was my least favorite friend on that show, followed closely by Matt LeBlanc.

she would have been good as Charity Hope Valantine.
