Of course it would have to be after I’m seeing Pam next but they’ll get my money again for this one!
Hot damn...
Have they shared who are playing Velma & Billy alongside Reality Winner Roxie?

I haven’t seen Chicago in YEARS, I’m not even sure if I’ve seen Jennifer Holliday on stage in anything, but now I have a ticket to see one of Emma Pittmans last shows, and JENNIFER HOLLIDAY gahhhh
Riding high off that Masked Singer run.
Hopefully her attendance is better this time then her first stint. Though she didn't miss many performances of The Color Purple.
Saw her as Mama Morton years ago. She sang magnificently but most of the humor in the role seemed to go over her head. It seemed like she didn't get the jokes.

Very much enjoyed her in that, what a voice.

Lol, had the same reaction. Haven’t seen Chicago since the revival opened. Now I’ll be seeing it twice in the same year.

She did not miss often.
im a hardcore Chicago fan. I’ve seen it over 100xs since encores. Jennifer didn’t miss much.
fun story. I was in the rush line when they were changing the marque to Deidre Goodwin as Velma after Vicki Lewis.
i will say goodwins and Jennifer’s “class” was amazing
weird I saw Deidres first back on bway. She’s so talented
I saw her first ever Velma I’m Delaware in 1998. Was supposedly be Belle Calaway and Mamie Duncan. I went cause I love Belle (best Roxie) and Mamie ( I saw her as Velma and mama often ..i got the boots)

SO happy to “meet” another hardcore fan of this show that understands that Belle Calaway is the best Roxy! I was in a production of it WITH her wayyy back in about (oh god) 1981 (chorus boy, you know) in the tiny town of Aptos, CA at Cabrillo Community College of all places. She was phenomenal. The production was spectacular. and not just for a small town. It was the best production of Chicago! A Musical Vaudeville that I have ever seen (I also got fired from it, so I sat in the front row every night. All my friends were in it! & it was THAT good).
I also saw the pre-Ann restaging of it in Long Beach with Juliet Prowse… & Kaye Ballard as Mama (so funny) & the original Amos… whatshisname.
Belle was even better than all of the Gwen footage I’ve seen (blasphemy!) Zellweger SUCKED!
But I never liked Ann’s restaging. After I saw the first touring company of her production I never saw it again…
I like costumes too much to accept a black palette!

What attendance issue?
