My niece is coming into town in two weeks to see "The Glass Menagerie" and wanted to know if Jessica Lange comes to the stage door and signs after performances. Does anybody know?

During STREETCAR, Jessica did everything she could to fans after the show. She'd have a limo pull up to the stage door and she'd leave via the front--and vice-versa. She is definitely not fan friendly.

From what I've heard, she's the epitome of a bi*ch to her fans.
Oh dear...I will be in NYC next week.....I must meet my favorite actress....I will do anything!!!!!!I wonder if she tells off her fans......I am scared!!!!!!!!I still love her!!

IF YOU TELL HER.... OMG.... IF YOU TELL HER YOU'LL DO ANYTHING!!!!!!!
then yeah, she'll probably tell you off.
Well, I have tickets to four shows for my next trip to NY and for the fifth and final slot I was trying to decide between Doubt and The Glass Menagerie.
I guess it'll be Doubt.

I'd go with Doubt *anyway*, Priest. I'm sure the acting in Menagerie will be stunning. But Cherry Jones is a marvelous performer. Do you want to miss that?
Cherry Jones is such a sweetheart, Priest. If you see that show, I can't see you having any problems meeting her afterwards.

I met her at the Imaginary Friends stagedoor, Matt, and she was an absolute doll. Not to mention a glorious performer.
I wonder why Jessica acts like that...I remember when we met Lauren Bacall...she started yelling at us.....all we could do was laugh!!!!
Bacall yelled at a friend of mine, also. She was very sweet to me, though so I have nothing against her unlike some actresses *coughMarisaTomeicough*

Probably because she's dealt with it so long and she's probably had some very creepy stalker type. Although she needs to be able to deal with it, she's probably to the point in her life where she's over it and tired of it.
Wow, Jessica sounds horrible...Sounds like she and Sam truly are a perfect match.

I waited at the stage door of the Haymarket in London when Lange did Streetcar there. I was told by the stage manager that she doesn't sign programs so I didn't approach her. When she exited she was very nice, she smiled and waved at everyone then got into a waiting limo with her mother. I've seen her in person three or four times and she's never come off as cold or arrogant. Someone who knows these sort of things informed me that Jessica has had a few unpleasant experiences with autograph seekers in the past that has left her wary. I've also heard that she still gets creepy fan mail from people after they watch Frances.
She thinks my letters are creepy?
I can totally understand why performers don't do autographs, even if I don't agree with it. It's their name, and they can sign it if they want, and not sign it if they want.
Good...I don't need her to sign my playbill....I just want to tell her how fabulous she is and how she has inspired me as an actress!!!

If you're referring to Ms. Bacall, that may or may not be accurate, but in actuality, she's unpleasant to most people - fans, coworkers, employees, etc.
Why when reading this all I could picture was "Jessica Fletcher" from MURDER SHE WROTE?
I know who both are, its just reading it, its all I could picture.
well....a real star like Brooke Shields is always nice to their fans.We support those actors and if we wouldnt go to the theatre or buy tickets to see their movies,or buy their cds, they would be nobody.

A friend of mine who worked with Lange told me he'd make it a pont not to work with her again. Even her peers aren't crazy about her.
On the other hand, Alec Baldwin was crazy about her. We had a very long conversation about how her Blanche grew as she continued performing her.
I really liked her as Blanche. Apparently, not many other people did. I also saw her do "Long Day's Journey..." in London and thought she was amazing, if a little young.
meffie, I also loved her as Blanche.
