Posted: 2/27/05 at 4:02pmDuring STREETCAR, Jessica did everything she could to fans after the show. She'd have a limo pull up to the stage door and she'd leave via the front--and vice-versa. She is definitely not fan friendly.

Well, I have tickets to four shows for my next trip to NY and for the fifth and final slot I was trying to decide between Doubt and The Glass Menagerie.
I guess it'll be Doubt.

Posted: 2/27/05 at 4:26pmProbably because she's dealt with it so long and she's probably had some very creepy stalker type. Although she needs to be able to deal with it, she's probably to the point in her life where she's over it and tired of it.

Posted: 2/27/05 at 4:31pmI waited at the stage door of the Haymarket in London when Lange did Streetcar there. I was told by the stage manager that she doesn't sign programs so I didn't approach her. When she exited she was very nice, she smiled and waved at everyone then got into a waiting limo with her mother. I've seen her in person three or four times and she's never come off as cold or arrogant. Someone who knows these sort of things informed me that Jessica has had a few unpleasant experiences with autograph seekers in the past that has left her wary. I've also heard that she still gets creepy fan mail from people after they watch Frances.

If you're referring to Ms. Bacall, that may or may not be accurate, but in actuality, she's unpleasant to most people - fans, coworkers, employees, etc.

A friend of mine who worked with Lange told me he'd make it a pont not to work with her again. Even her peers aren't crazy about her.
On the other hand, Alec Baldwin was crazy about her. We had a very long conversation about how her Blanche grew as she continued performing her.
