"I am delighted to be starting rehearsals next summer 2006 for ‘LEGENDS’. This is a fantastically funny and entertaining play by James Kirkwood who wrote ‘Chorus Line’ and is about two feuding actresses who have hated each other for years and are now forced to work together again. Linda Evans my old nemesis Krystal Carrington from Dynasty will be playing the other actress and we think that many Dynasty fans are going to be anxious to see this glamorous lush production with exquisite costumes by Nolan Miller, directed by John Boab and produced by Ben Sprecher.
Contrary to what many people wanted to think, Linda and I actually got along extremely well during the Dynasty years. The producers and the media loved to create feuds between us because it mirrored our hostility on the show. Well, in Legends there will be plenty of hostility (on stage only) between us, which should certainly satisfy Dynasty fans.
We are all extremely excited by the prospect of touring the US for 8 months then hopefully to New York".
-Joan Collins-
starting rehearsals in summer 2006?????? that means we have to wait a really long time until it comes to NY...if it even makes it to NY. I can't wait to see Joan Collins and Linda Evans on stage together!
Did Joan do any show on Broadway since "private lives" in 1991? anyone knows?

Private Lives is Collins' one and only Broadway credit.
OH ..TNKS FOR THE INFO...I KNOW SHE HAS DONE A LOT OF THEATRE ...BUT IT MUST ON THE WEST END THEN.
The "exquisite costumes" are being designed by Nolan Miller? Can this production get any gayer? Can't wait!
I MISS JOAN AND HER CATFIGHTS.
I'm obligated to see this and meet Collins at the stagedoor. She's a fascinating person. I happened to read her autobiography, or at least the parts of it about Evelyn Nesbit -- whom she knew, portrayed in a Hollywood film, and poked fun at....
Someone who's still alive, acting and knew the central figure in an event that occurred 100 years ago is someone worth meeting, IMO. (not sure how much she'd appreciate me being interested in her mostly for the Nesbit connection, however)
This will be the biggest gay ticket in town and I for one CANNOT WAIT!!!

Sounds like bad dinner theater fare to me. The show wasn't all that great with Martin and Channing the first time around.
I'm confused as to how muscle23ftl is so blown away by Joan but thinks Chita Rivera and Angela Lansbury have no talent? Things that make ya wanna go hmmm.
That's because he can't decipher talented "Old Farts" from just plain old ones.
JOAN IS A GREAT ACTRESS AND AUTHOR AND SHE IS A STAR...AND SHE IS BEAUTIFUL...IT'S A PLEASURE TO LOOK AT HER. AND SHE DOESN'T SING OR DANCE,BECAUSE SHE KNOWS HER LIMITATIONS.
I remember seeing the play on tour with Mary Martin and Carol Channing. It's not a great play but it's kind of fun.
If you want a good read - find a copy of James Kirkwood's Diary of a Mad Playwrite. It's a book about his time on the road with the two legends. Neither of them comes out very well , but the book is very funny.
HEY....WONDERBOY...I NEVER SAID ANGELA LANSBURY HAS NO TALENT,I HAVE NEVER SEEN HER ONSTAGE OR ANYWHERE. I DID SAY CHITA RIVERA LOOKED LIKE SHE WAS GOING TO DIE IN "KISS.." AND I DIDNT THINK SHE WAS THE RIGHT STAR FOR THE ROLE. BESIDES...HER NAME MEANS "MONKEY" IN SPANISH,TACKY!
I think Joan Collins is a great personality and she has masterd a way to sell it. She will be very good in Legends because the part fits her. But an actress? I don't think so.
Now Angela Lansbury truly is a legend.

PS Babe, Chita is short for Dolores Conchita Figueroa del Rivero.
Does anybody really believe this will fare any better than the original production?
PS BABY NOTHING...I SPEAK SPANISH AND CHITA MEANS A FEMALE MONKEY WONDERBOY...GOOGLE IT. I DIDNT SAY IT DOESNT COME FROM CONCHITA...I KNOW IT DOES....SPANISH IS MY 1ST LANGUAGE.
AND FOR THE RECORD...THIS THREAD IS ABOUT JOAN COLLINS ...IS NOT CALLED "LET'S THROW DOWN WITH MUSCLE"
Maybe throwing down with muscle could be fun! wink-wink
ALRIGHT WONDERBOY...U DONT HAVE A GREAT TASTE WHEN IT COMES TO PERFORMERS...BUT U DO HAVE A GOOD SENSE OF HUMOR...HAHA.
AND MAYBE ILL GO TO SEE UR IDOL IN HER SHOW JUST TO CRITICIZE HOW UGLY AND OLD SHE LOOKS...HAHA...WELL..ACTUALLY I CANT REALLY HATE HER BECUZ "KISS OF THE SPIDER WOMAN" IS MY FAV MUSICAL AND SHE WAS IN IT....SO ITS ALL GOOD...ANYHOW...THIS THREAD IS FOR THE AMAZING JOAN COLLINS. SO...NO MORE TALKING ABOUT ANY OTHER ACTRESS-SINGER?-DANCER-MONKEY-WHATEVER.
LOL - You just made me laugh so hard that I snorted! Okay, truce. Back on topic, I am looking forward to this coming to fruition. I wonder if she will wear a fabulous gown from DYNASTY with lots of sequins and shoulder pads. Plus seeing her with Linda Evans will be a true delight too!

Well, Nolan Miller did design the costumes for Dynasty (as well as Paper Dolls, Hollywood Wives, Bare Essence and all those great 80's TV-movies), so let's keep our fingers crossed!
I love that his only entry on ibdb.com is for Joan's revival of Private Lives...Costume Design by William Ivey Long / Miss Collins' Evening Gown by Nolan Miller.
Now if they only they could find a way to fit Pamela Sue Martin into this...
