Oh, I see, sorry if I misunderstood. Then you won't be disappointed with Bennett's performance, her acting is on a par with that of Davis', who is also brilliant, IMO.
Reginald, absolutely a great performance from someone that has many awards; it just appeared to me that some thought Davis was using her own voice.

#Surely we can agree that saying "Bennett IS Garland" is pretty much the same thing.#
I guess we all have different opinions on things; to me, 'Bennett IS Garland;'....means she IS at present and until someone else in the future, does just as well in the role, and becomes known as 'IS Garland'; that's how it is. IMHO
Just to comment on something said a page or two ago where it was stated that someone couldn't tell the difference between Tracie and Judy's singing--really?!
A few weeks ago, I was sitting in the living with my sister and best friend who were both visiting for a friend's birthday, and clicked on the clip of Bennett singing "Just in Time." I was watching the video while they were just listening. About half way through, I thought to myself, "Why aren't we just listening to the real thing" and clicked on Judy singing the same song. Within the first 4 notes, my sister sighed--"Well, that's a million times better."
Not that I don't think Bennett wasn't doing fine, but not anything like the brilliance that is Judy Garland.
I really don't mean to bash Bennett without having seen her (and I definitely will when it comes to NYC), I am just stating that saying that Bennett and Garland sound almost identical is not accurate (to me anyway).
Reviews from UK provincial newspapers would count for fcuk all when quoted as straplines outside a West End theatre, let alone a Broadway one.
Still, I'm sure Judy Garland portrayed as a dog would go down well in Huntingdon, a town best known for its animal experimentation laboratories and other animal abuse:
What a weird post Scipps; so everyone in Huntingdon is cruel to animals? Well, anyway, have a look at a top notch theatre critic's write-up then, if you don't think the Cambridge one is bona fide/good
that's all I put on the 0438 post as far as I remember, the editing would probably be a spelling error. I did edit the one before that in trying to get the link to work. Why are you being so hostile?
@Dreaming, it's catagorized as a play with music here in the UK.

The posts referred to were only yesterday, I can remember that much but not who posted what, last week. Bear in mind, forgetting'll come to yee Scripps, then you may not find it so amusing. But we're going way off topic. I won't post again if I annoy you so much....white flag?
