Her singing voice reminds me of Madonna's, which is kind of perfect for Rock of Ages, but, Wicked, not so much.

Funny you should say Madonna and that I never made the connection. A friend of mine has ALWAYS said that Madonna singing sounds like Minnie Mouse.

I could actually sort of imagine her voice working for Galinda, although they'd surely have to lower the keys.

If Madonna can play Eva, then Julianne can play Elphaba. They just will autotune the crap out of her so she can hit the money notes. No one knows what real singing sounds like anymore anyway, so its all good.

Who cares about the singing? She can't act her way out of a paper bag. There are probably ten real actresses who are bigger names than she is that I'd rather see in the part.

I wish they would stop trying to make her happen. She's awful in Rock of Ages. Awful. Her acting stinks as much as her auto-tuned singing. I don't really care who plays Elphaba in the Wicked movie, I'm just tired of this girl and her lack of any discernible talent.

Julianne is a talented dancer but she is a terrible actress. Plus her being tired of doing so many musicals at the moment is just laughable! Like any of us would ever mistake her for a talented musical theater actress.
