And even though she's not Canadian, Rebecca Black will be starring as Christine Daae in the new Toronto production of Phantom of the Opera Eh?!

Forget stunt-casting, this whole commerce over art issue is getting a bit ridiculous. Think of Les Mis. Think of Bieber and his fan base. Never the two shall meet.
You could not pay me to sit through a production of Les Mis where little bitches and future queens will be screaming, talking and texting through the entire show.
Abso-#@*!-inglutely NO!

It's not true. If you read the entire article that's linked in the above blurb, it says this:
"As for Bieber’s possible involvement, Mackintosh was asked if he would follow through on his London casting of Nick Jonas as Marius by replicating it here with our own home-grown pop superstar and his answer was, “I would love to hear Justin Bieber sing ‘Empty Chairs at Empty Tables.’ Please spread the word that he’d be more than welcome in the show.”
So it's just something Mackintosh mentioned as 'gee, wouldn't it be neat if', but it's not something that's actually going to happen. I'm sure Bieber is too busy making millions on tour to be in a stage show. Maybe in a few years after he cools off and the teen girls aren't screaming for him anymore.

The Beeb will make a wonderful young Cossette.

Bieber doesn't know what Germany is. I doubt he knows what Les Miserables is.
But this would be one time i would probably "boo" during applause. I would have done the same had I seen Nick Jonas.

Every time someone around me brings up Bieber all I ever say is "Oh, you mean Aaron Carter?"
Remember when Carter played Jojo for a short time in SEUSSICAL? That was the height of his career...Bieber is at that point right now. Give it 2 or 3 more years, no one will remember this.

Rumor has it he will be playing a newly reimagined, dynamic Lovely Lady for 2012, complete with glorious new corset equipped with malfunctioning wardrobe and pretty lacy under thingies as a necessity for the continued success of this 1985 musical.
And the old 2010 orchestrations will be redone once more because reedy and paper thin went out of style in March, and 2012 will demand the introduction of 5 less jobs for 5 potential musicians as modern standards don't require silly stuff like harmony and don't express via blends of distinct sounds and colors.
And Sir Mac can use another holiday home or two on other remote English countrysides.
