but u see...the reason they stunt cast works. I will probably get a ticket when she is on broadway and see her simply out of wondering how she will perform.
i apologize. its wrong to wish a closing announcement for any theatre production. [rolls eyes]...
but casting for this show has become laughable.

Anne L. Nathan wasn't an old hag. Nor was she belty black diva.

I loved Ms Nathan's Mama. I want her back on Bway soon.

Kelly has a good set of pipes. I'd much prefer to see her than Ashlee Simpson. They just need to cover up all her tattoos

Nor was she there very long. I still love Lea Delaria's Mama on tour.
Debbie Gravitte, another non old hag. Nor a belty black diva.

Michele Pawk played Mama.
Donna Marie Asbury. Understudied Mama and I'm pretty sure she went on in the role.
They weren't old hags or belty black divas.
i dont think race is the issue.
but why would they let a child supervise a prison?

Michelle and Deborah live up to the "Matron" title... They also let DMA go on as Velma and I have no clue WHY! I have seen Jen Frankle go on as Mama.... ummmmm.. OK
Wow, Donna Marie Asbury is gorgeous.
Flaunt,
I've only heard that DMA was a PHENOMENAL Velma. She still has occasional stints as Velma.

I think she could pass for older.

I have seen the show well over 100 times.. DMA was just OK as velma.. solid but nothing special. There is a reason she is still a chorus girl this late in her career.

People also say DMA was an amazing Evita. Hal Prince hand picked her for the tour, didn't he?

I'd love for Amra to return.

In the tour, Ivy Fox (I think is her name...stripper much?) is the understudy for Mama--she is one of the Cell Block Tango girls. She was pretty annoying to me--her squeaky voice, but she did fine and she's not that old...
but she is black, while we're on that subject .
Well, I think she is.
It was rumored like a year ago that Kelly was going to be playing Tracy in Hairspray, but those rumors were quickly put to an end by Mr. Shaiman. I don't know how I feel about her in this role. She really doesn't seem like a Broadway kind of...rock star to me. Oh well. Chicago likes to do this kind of stuff... We can only hope for the best!
The Sun is a british tabloid. Who knows the truth to this rumor.
Ugh Broadway!
so where can I get tickets to this inevitable train wreck? or will it be like disgraced Miss USA and she'll get fired in rehearsalS?

Go-to-hell Kitty is a role more suitable for a her lack of talent. All that requires is screaching for a few minutes.

Kelly should have been cast as Rizzo in Grease, a role she could actually play.
Chicago has survived Melanie Griffith, it can survive anything. It just shows the genius of Kander & Ebb.
